• Computer Not Autodetecting USB Devices

My computer has stopped detecting and "autoplaying" my mp3 player when I plug it in. It can still charge via the USB but I'm unable to "synch" music with it, or see it in "my computer," so I'm unable to add new songs to it. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? It's really frustrating. I've tried restarting both my computer and the MP3 player but I don't have a clue what to try now. I'm guessing it has something to do with the computer because it's doing the same thing with cameras that connect via usb plug.
Check your autoplay settings, as I don't know what OS you're running it will vary where the settings for autoplay are located. Also try going into device manager, uninstalling the device and then reinstalling it. If worse comes to worse you can uninstall the USB controllers and see if that helps.
Screwed driver for your usb controller.
Sorry for not including my system info in the OP. Not sure how much is needed, so here's the basic stuff: OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001 System Name BED-PC System Manufacturer HP-Pavilion System Model GN556AA-ABA a6200n System Type X86-based PC Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, 2600 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) Plus my USB information: Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_03F2&SUBSYS_2A61103C&REV_A3\3&2411E6FE&0&11 Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_03F1&SUBSYS_2A61103C&REV_A3\3&2411E6FE&0&10 [QUOTE=Mister TBD;16754448]Check your autoplay settings, as I don't know what OS you're running it will vary where the settings for autoplay are located. Just checked my device manager, with the MP3 player plugged in, and in its properties window I'm being told that "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" so if I right click the MP3 player (it's named "COBY MP3 PLAYER" in the device manager) and uninstall, will I be prompted to reinstall it next time I plug the player in? or will uninstalling it permanently damage the player somehow?
Kick it really really hard.

Thanks for the help! :)
