Captain Mike Perry reports around 4:30 p.m. on Dundalk Ave. a 72-inch main erupted. Dundalk Ave. is now completely flooded. Water rescues are ongoing as the break has flooded into the Logan Village neighborhood. Cars are stuck in water, and some of those vehicles are occupied. Rescuers are now trying to figure out how to rescue those drivers. Closed streets include McShane Ave., Longview Ave., Loganview Dr., Dundalk Ave., and Broening Hwy. has collapsed and is closed from I-695 to the Dundalk Train Tunnel. "The water is coming so quickly, the sewer lines where the storm water flows cannot handle this, and that's why it's backing up into peoples' yards, into their houses and submerging their vehicles." Some residents are reporting a loss of power. Anyone who needs assistance is asked to go to the American Legion on Dundalk Ave. Stay with WJZ.COM for updates to this developing story.
SOURCE http://wjz.com/local/water.main.break.2.1193477.html Where the main actually broke looks like it was hit with a bomb and all the water coming out of it is going about a mile in each direction, looks like Dundalk just went through a hurricane. And apparently they can't just it off or else it will blow out all the other mains around it so they have to turn it back slowly.
"Mary's water breaks" coincidence, or fact?
Wow, that's terrible. That'll probably set things back for awhile there.
"Mary's water breaks" coincidence, or fact?
Good job reading thread.
I'm flooded right now. I'm trapped in my house. No Joke. :(
Oh geez, this is only a few minutes away from me.
Oh geez, this is only a few minutes away from me.
If a few is less than 20, you might see some water possibly. [editline]04:41PM[/editline] Hopefully they can shut off the water, that way it doesn't completely drown the entire town.

Seems like shit like this always happens in Maryland. There was a watermain break in Bethesda MD not too long ago. Shit sucks.
Yeah we've had quite a few water breaks.
Dundalk is borderline with the Chesapeake bay pretty much so they will be fine.
Sounds good.
I've lived in MD for 19 years, and I have never heard of Dundalk. However, the water pipes in Maryland, especially the county I am in are so terrible, at least a half dozen are guaranteed to burst during winter.
Looks like you guys are gonna need more than just a bucket.
I'm from Annapolis haha Never been to Dundalk though, just know it's in the Baltimore area.
Wow, third time in my state in the past year. We've had a 48 break, a 72, ad now this 72.
This happens like once per week in toronto.
Right down the street from me, its like 2 ft deep near my aunts house and car deep at the supermarket.
Oh shit, Dundalk Facepunchers report in.

Is it hard to turn it off?
Is it hard to turn it off?
Imagine a 3-inch wide pipe breaking in your basement. It's a real hard time getting it to turn off, right? Also, it covers the area in buttloads of water. Now imagine a 72-inch pipe. (6 feet or just under 2 meters for you metricfags)
Is it hard to turn it off?
Very. They have to shut down the water to fix it, and it's a huge pipe.
Dundalk, Maryland's watermelon breaks 72-inch melon
It's really because of Pennywise.
It's really because of Pennywise.
They all float in Dundalk.
