Just released a new album for free called "Inner Dissonance" (Experimental Groove Metal with vox)

Just released my 3rd album with vox. I tried to catch all emotions and things that struck me the most in the period of time that I wrote the album (between february and july) and put them into song form. This album is
more aggression themed than the others.
I almost scrapped the whole album because of the stress that came with the planning/making of the songs, So I simply said ".... it I release it as it is" and here we go! Please check it out.
There are also signed CD's avaible all homemade with love and my own sweat :D
Thanks and enjoy .

I used my PRS Baritone tuned to C#1 (next to the 0 octave) on this album.
Equipped with 17-90 strings, BKP Painkiller and my trusty POD HD bean :)
I would love to hear what you guys think! Thanks alot for your time, I really appreciate it.

i'm glad you improved on your album covers with this one, though the album name's font looks pretty unfitting still
i'll give it a spin at some point and post opinions and stuff
Definitely some great moments within it. Pretty unique too in my opinion, though my metal repertoire isn't that large. I like it.
pretty nice man, I'm getting a kinda korn vibe from it. all of the non-clean vocals are in that range between deep growls, and high screams, kinda mid range. Without sounding to patronising, you sing really well in english.

Oh aw thank you alot man, that's some words I appreciate!
okay opinions time now, please don't take it too hard because i have a very rough and cynical tone when i post opinions, i just try to be as honest as possible
starting out with an intro track, Alive Part 1, repeating a simple motif, building up a bit and then going back down, pretty basic intro, works fairly well, not much to comment on here
then starts the second half, aptly named Alive Part 2, continuing the same motif, which makes me wonder why the track was split into 2, it would've worked fine as just one track
the mixing is... odd, to say the least. i'm bad at describing things like this, but it feels like it isn't balanced enough, i think. guitar and bass feel very overpowering, i think it would've been better if the guitar was spaced out more, like right now it sounds like everything is trying to play in the same area at the same time, except for the drums, which are really really all over
like the drums don't feel like they're a single drumset, but the cymbals are seperate. i don't know if that makes any sense, but it's how it feels
then comes the title track, continuing on the style that Alive Part 2 built up
i really like the vocals, they're different from what i usually hear and sound quite nice, i'm not going to focus on the lyrics since i barely ever do so i wouldn't know what to say about them
the second half sounds a lot less... stuffy, yeah, that's the word i'd use to describe the mixing, it feels like a stuffy nose, like it's not giving me the full range it should but instead only these stuffed lower frequencies
i'm still trying to pinpoint what really feels off about the mixing, but i'm really not good with mixing so i don't know.
Betrayal finally helped me out with what i don't like about the mixing. The guitar has more bass than the bass! Overall the guitar feels way too overpowering on the whole album compared to how it is spaced out, giving it a very stuffy sound.
not much to comment on the songwriting here, it doesn't really stick anything out to me, or maybe the mixing is just too distracting.
Poi-Noisoned starts out with some heavy beating, it sounds nice, but then come in the nu-metal vocals. i really don't like nu-metal, so don't take my opinions on anything related too hard.
the midi piano breaks the composition whenever it comes to the foreground because of how fake it sounds, you should try to get some more realistic sounding piano sounds for future piano stuff
and then starts a sudden ballad-like intro, i'm not feeling the flow of this album at all, but it quickly gives way back to the same brutal beating metal that's characterised the album so far.
now that's a much better transition to the clean sound, this time it feels like it's really supposed to be there and doesn't break the flow of the song
this song seems to be having more dynamics than the earlier songs (bar Alive), which is a very good thing, the smashing guitars get really tiring after a while of just them
nice section after the third buildup, the riffs are a nice change and are more noisey and less samey and the shouts sound very good on this part, i'm feeling it
the cymbals still sound really odd though, too quiet too so when they aren't panned hard right they get drowned out by the guitar
Who am I starts out immediately afterwards, which it shouldn't, there should be a bit of breathing space between the songs
and suddenly the mixing sounds absolutely fine..?? what happened here and why don't the earlier tracks sound like this?
the drums sound natural and there's space with all the isntruments and everything sounds great now
very meshuggah esque clean guitars, fantastic atmosphere building, going to some real hard beating with fantastic mixing and production
and then come in fantastic background vocals, they really compliment the instruments well and there's great flow and the atmosphere stays consistently great
like seriously, what happened with this track, the quality of everything just jumped way up for no apparent reason and it sounds and feels so much better than the first 6 tracks
the songwriting, the mixing, the production, everything is suddenly so good... what a bizarre jump
Incomplete stars out next, it stands out nicely from the previous tracks with some cool ideas, personally not a fan of the synths but that's just me
nice focus on the drums this time, it really improves the pacing of the album when you give more focus to the background instruments every now and then
the production feels a bit more stuffy than Who am I, but bearable. Nothing too noteworthy, but it's a good interlude, just weird putting it right after another track that resets the pacing
the song order should've really been thought out more, the first 6 or so songs feel all very similar (well, except for Alive Part 1), but then afterwards you have 2 songs that don't
the flow of the album should be more consistent, right now it feels janky with similar songs being put together instead of spaced out
with Pit, make that 3. fantastic spacing on this album, much like Who am I, it feels very open and well paced
great atmosphere, i really feel this track, the production is, much like Who am I, again weirdly much more high-quality than the rest with great use of space and not stuffy
could use some vocals at this point though, it's been 3 songs now without much vocals other than the backing in Who am I
Nameless is a lot like Incomplete, a bit stuffier than The Pit and Who am I but still has good space and pacing, no clue what's going on with this album right now
Fuck You sounds like a fusion of the first songs and the recent songs, a bit stuffy again, but it's good. REALLY could use some proper vocals at this point, absolutely bizarre album pacing you have going, or lack thereof.
The Limit gives us a completely different feel, which is a good change of pace, though again makes me wonder what is going on. not much to comment on, but it's calm and open, could work as an outro track.
Release continues from where The Limit stops, has a very Gavin Harrison-esque feel art rock feel, which doesn't compliment the rest of the album at all, but really i don't know what does at this point, i'm completely lost now.
Blowing Up starts out nicely flowing from the last 2 tracks, but I don't like nu-metal and as such i'm not a fan of this track. great space though, it feels like this third section of the album has great focus on flow and feel.
in fact, this third section has had 0 stuffiness so far.
i have no idea who Sophies Earthquake are, so i can't listen to your cover from that standpoint, but again it continues like the rest of the third section, which lots of space and flow, i like it
okay, time to pull this all into a conclusion of sorts. i just want to say this first: christ, what a mess of an album. now, don't take that wrong, i'm not saying the songs are bad, because they certainly aren't, but as an album it's a mess.
there's no consistency, it's more like 3 EPs written and recorded years apart, they don't have any flowing feel with eachother, only within themselves.
the first section (tracks 1-6) is, to be frank, bad. the rough blasting metal could be very good but the stuffy mixing really keeps me from being able to fully enjoy it and the lack of flow, pacing and dynamics (for the most part) wraps up to be a lacking experience. the vocals here are fantastic though, it's a sad that the worst section is the only one with proper foreground vocals.
the second section (tracks 7-11) is great, there's great use of space and dynamics here, good flow, all the songs sound distinctly different and the stuffiness isn't nearly as intrusive. overall a good experience.
the third section (tracks 12-15) are an odd coupling, not as consistent as the second section, but the flow is good and there's fantastic use of space here. it doesn't have any metal feel to it at all, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but like i said before, it doesn't fit the album at all.
a simple song order change couldn't fix the problems of pacing and consistency of this album, it's far too all over the place.
the first and second sections could work together with some improving with mixing, but the third section doesn't feel like it belongs at all.
i can't even begin to guess what was going on during the making of this album, but it's a bizarre bag indeed.
not a good album, but (ignoring the first section) a fine pack of songs, i hope you'll do more vocals in the future.

in hindsight i might've gone a bit overboard with that post, but i had a lot to say about this album
wise words from an experienced wizard
Hakita, you wouldn't believe how much you probably helped out Caynug with your opinions. Giving such in depth analysis towards his songs means a ton to the musician, and can help them refine their sound.

it's not actually indepth analysis though, it's just me rambling about the album while listening to it

well your rambling is pretty cohesive
