I really like this idea.
yeah thats a really cool idea
To be honest, after learning what THQ was doing behind the scenes with games like Saints Row, im glad they died.
To be honest, after learning what THQ was doing behind the scenes with games like Saints Row, im glad they died.
What did they do?
What did they do?
You know how SR3 was completely whacky with pretty much nothing serious about it whatsoever? Exactly. You know the DLC? Exactly.
What did they do?
They forced story arcs like Shaundi having survivors guilt (explaining her radical personality change from SR2) and the Syndicate nuking Stilwater into oblivion to be dropped due to their "concerns" about it being too much. In a game where a giant dildo is a melee weapon.

None of that is anything compared to Deep Silver's shady history. Maybe other people aren't so concerned because they aren't very well-known, but Deep Silver is much more notorious about shitting on games than THQ ever was. They'll shit out anything that'll make a buck. And they'll shit on their developers to do it (unless they've changed for some reason)

Steve Jaros, Creative Director, said that Deep Silver is trusting that Volition will make the right decisions themselves, which is why they're allowed to do things like add mod support.

Deep Silver has probably realized that now that they have repeated successes with big titles, that they don't have to spam shovelware to get by.

They should just trust their proven developers to make a solid product. Of course, as Ride to Hell indicates, they're still not above soiling their image by releasing complete garbage. That's a case where they actually should have been involved with the development team.

Is that how it seriously looks in game. How do you forget to put a drowning animation for a scripted event? For shame.
Deep Silver is a publisher that leaves a lot of freedom to their devs. Problem is, they didn't really have any good developers so far.
