Bell, Judi Marmel, Robert Hartmann and Stu Schreiberg are executive producing the concert event, which comes from Levity Productions. Cosby's last stand-up special was the landmark 1983 "Bill Cosby: Himself," which Cosby directed and which featured a lot of material that would lead to "The Cosby Show." Commenting on why he returned to the form, Cosby said, "Because... funny is funny."
He is so old it will probably end up being sit down comedy! [sub]ahohohohohohoho you're welcome folks that's going on the DVD[/sub]
I wonder if his comedy style will be different.
I was about to say, In September hes coming here (Westchester County) to do a show. Guess it's a new act or filmed?
Jeez, I remember walking into my parents room one night and seeing one of his shows on. Curious, I watched for a few minutes as he started on a segment about parenting. Then he said a few lines that I immediately recognized because my parents used them on me when I was a kid. and I said "Hey what the hell??" and they both busted out laughing for like 5 minutes.
I wonder if his comedy style will be different.
watch Robin Williams in 1970s and then watch him now. He's way more dirty and ruthless now than back then. But he was never disney... Cosby was Disney.
I wonder if his comedy style will be different.
I saw him a few years a go. It's still the same comedy style of telling funny stories from his life.
Hopefully it won't be a zip-zap-zoobity-flop
Part of his tour is gonna be up the street from me. Kind of tempted to go, but then again isn't he in his 70's? It could end up like Clint Eastwood talking to a chair or something.
Don't forget the jell-o. It's always that zoopity beep bop jell-o with him.
I've seen and heard recent stand-up that he's done and it's still as fantastic as it ever was. He's a master of stand up comedy. He knows how to hold an audience captive and he can pretty much make them laugh at will. It's not constant roaring laughter, though, he knows how to suck you into a story and then unexpectedly spring it on you whenever it's needed. He hasn't lost any of his edge or wit, in fact I would go so far as to say he's only ever gotten better. To anyone not familiar with his comedy style, or maybe you think he's disney or whatever, go listen to at least one of his albums, because I assure you it's not the case. 'To Russel, my Brother, whom I slept with' is probably one of the best comedy albums of its day. Seriously, just go watch or listen to any Cosby special or album and if you don't love it, you're probably just not a fan of stand up comedy because the man is a genius. Also Himself is awesome:
I remember watching a few episodes of the cosby show. It was pretty funny. And the man himself has always managed to make me chuckle.
watch Robin Williams in 1970s and then watch him now. He's way more dirty and ruthless now than back then. But he was never disney... Cosby was Disney.
That said, he's still legitimately funny in my opinion.
I actually just saw one of his shows about a month ago. He is old so he sits in a chair, but he's still funny.
That said, he's still legitimately funny in my opinion.
Oh yeah, definitely. It was just a culture shock going from his 80s-90s films and onto his 70s shows and THEN suddenly he's badshit crazy in 2005. Different kinds of hilarious.

I don't know, I struggle to find him funny... I suppose it's a bit different to the shows we have.
Damn. I live three minutes away from Cerritos.
