Hi, my PC is constantly a massive cunt to me and it seems to enjoy crashing at random times for no reason. The problem is though it crashes so monumentally hard that it doesn't produce a dump file for analysis so I can actually try and get to the root of the crash. Anyone have any ideas on how I can make it create them?
Thanks
Specs if needed are:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ stock (3.2Ghz)
6GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
GTX 560 factory overclocked
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
It's a hardware problem, post temps, check ram with memtest86, chkdsk your drives.
Try removing non-vital parts like networking and audio cards to see if those are the cause.
My temps are great, sitting around 36/35 CPU/GPU respectively most of the time. I have just burned memtest to a CD so I will run that over night and see if it throws up anything. If not I'll do chkdsk.
I've disabled my wireless card as I use ethernet anyway, or should I completely unplug it? And I don't have a dedicated sound card, I use on board.
Yes you should completely unplug it, and any other card you don't use.
Well I finally got round to running memtest. Lol, the amount of errors were in the millions. It was rising so fast it was hard to actually see the exact number it was on. I think I may have found the problem.. I'm going away on vacation for 2 weeks so once I'm back I will issue an RMA and get a nice new shiny pair.
