• Fast Five Spoiler Thread **DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE**

So I just now got to watch Fast Five, almost a full week late. Can't believe no one has made a thread here yet. WE'RE THE AUTOMOTIVE FORUM FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! It was what I expected, the shaky-camera chase movie that Fast & Furious was but with more one-upping than the last. I like that they brought together all of the old characters but it really didn't work out so well, the story was sort of... Well, I'll be honest, it was riddled with holes--bullet holes, presumably, shit there was a lot of gunfighting in this one--although I've come to expect that from the Fast and the Furious movies. It's still a fast-paced action movie although there were some talky parts that nearly lost me, but then it picks right back up into more action. Anyways, some interesting things they brought up in the movie: MIA IS PREGNANT!? Why!? That was an odd plot twist, I'm not sure it was completely needed, I think it was put in the story to "one-up" the last movie, and there isn't a point in the movie that mattered about her being with-baby (apparently pregnant women can jump and fall 20 feet onto some tin, tumble through it and run off without damaging the child in any way). It was a shocking twist, though. But blatant and early in the film. Another, Dwayne Johnson's character is a bit... I'm not sure. Something is missing with it and it didn't feel right. The fight scene between him and Dominic was the BEST part of the movie, I really thought he was going to get killed. So glad they played that out like they did, it worked great and I loved it. Still wish they would have explored Dwayne Johnson's character more, but I'll get to that later. Again, THE CHARGER! OH MY GOD D: How can they destroy that iconic car? I hope somehow it's brought back... But I am pretty sure she is dead now. :bahgawd: Fuckin' wrestlers in mah movies Anyways, there was so much in the movie I just can't list everything I was pleased and displeased with. So I'm going to talk about the cars a bit. I liked the use of the Charger police cars, I'm glad we have respectable police vehicles they can use nowadays. The crown vic is cool and all but wouldn't have fit the movie as well. THE C10 SKYLINE! That was the coolest shit I've ever seen. Couldn't have used a better car for that scene. Wish it wouldn't have just disappeared afterwards, though. There were lots of nice cars. As usual. Glad to see they got away from the rice scene a lot. Also, post-credits. Did anyone stay and watch? I was surprised they brought back whats-her-face from 2F2F! WHO'S THE GIRL?! Japfeiffer saw it with me and didn't understand because he doesn't know who she is (this was his first Fast and the Furious movie) but I've seen them all and am wondering what is up. WHAT ARE THEY GONNA DO ABOUT THIS? :iiam: Anyways, discuss Fast Five! I know some of you have seen it.
I'm gonna probably end up watching it a couple years in the future on TV.
I got DVD format on all of them except Fast & Furious. I watched that one with a girl I was seeing. Also the night I lost my virginity :smug:
the movie was...alright.
I liked it. But they are starting to drag this series on more and more. Not that I really care since it's the only real car-enthusiast-inspired movie series out there really but still. What was basically "guys rob trucks in the LA area and are underground street racers" has evolved into "WORLD WIDE CRIMINALS STEALING MULTI BILLION DOLL-HAIRS AND SHIT AND THE ROCK AND ACTION AND FIGHTING... oh yeah and cars too."
Yeah, the last two movies have been WAY off-base. Tokyo Drift was okay, not really "canon", but I liked it because it explored some other racing instead of straight-up street racing, and in essentially a new world. I like how they are tying Tokyo Drift in with the series. But yeah It's getting spread toooooo thin now, I'm hoping 6 will be the final part and they will put the series to rest. I'm also hoping that 6 takes place after Tokyo Drift or something, I really want to see them tie up all the loose ends and put it all to rest. By far, the first movie was still the best. But none of them have been "bad" movies, and this makes me happy. Really wish they'd explore the cars thing more though. I am getting kinda tired with the "Hey look, they're criminals... with cars" thing, wish they'd go back to "Cars and shit, also he's a cop" thing or something similar. I'm pretty sure it's too far past that point though :(
I liked the first one, it flowed right and had a good transfer through the scenes. Nothing like "ok I'm getting parts *scene changes to some party* yo party is tyte *switches back to getting parts* ok I'm done" this isn't in any movies, it's just a poorly thrown together example. Anyways, the first story was good, it made sence while still keeping it on track, the drag scene at the end was really my only favorite part of the movie. The second was iffy, Im a little rusty on what happened but I don't think it tied in with the style of the first one to well. Shifted to much towards the police side than evening it out like the first one did. I completely forget Tokyo Doriftu, I think I tried to watch it twice but I ended up either finding something elce or losing interest. The movie just didn't apply to my interest though. Number 4 had too much cgi scenes, and I also hate that they killed off the charger in this, it was too sketchy. They are driving in a old mine shaft, something happens and the guy jumps from the car onto the other car sending the charger into a wall. No remorse, not even a mention even though it was such a big part of the series, though it's role was dwindling. I have yet to see number 5 though.
Charger isn't dead :smug: It's still alive. They extensively repaired it and it is in *somehwat* good condition again, you can definately tell it was being worked on. Too bad The Rock smashes the FUCK out of it. Pretty sure it's dead after that. And yes, it is the same '70 Charger. "You know, Mia says this thing's a curse."

[/QUOTE] i remember hearing that there was an interview with a producer or cast members or something and they said theres going to be 2 more, don't remember if fast five was one of them
Oh hi there lemon, thought you died.
I probably will with this deathtrap im driving
You can give it to me whenever you're done with it. I have a use for the full SR20 swap. Or if you know anyone with a complete KA24DE, I need one. Don't need intake/exhaust, but I do need a flywheel. Anyways, was reading the Wiki article on Fast Five... Apparently they said they were going to make a sixth movie over a year ago. Can't believe I never knew that.
