Answers In Genesis, which built and operates the religious-themed attraction, plans to build a full-scale wooden replica of Noah's Ark based on biblical descriptions. The $24.5 million project will be constructed by the same team that built the Creation Museum. The religious ministry is soliciting online donations to help construct the project, which they expect to draw an estimated 1.6 million visitors per year. Ken Ham, president and CEO of Answers In Genesis, cites poll data showing that an estimated 63 percent of Americans would visit a full-scale replica of Noah's Ark if one were built in the U.S. "We see a full-scale, wooden ark as something so significant that it will shake up this nation," Ham said. "It would be a clear reminder to America about the truths of the Bible. The building of a huge ark is a unique and powerful opportunity to reach millions in our nation (and around the world) with a bold statement: God's word is true." About 1.2 million people have visited the Creation Museum since it opened in 2007, and Ham said the polling firm America's Research Group estimates that the ark attraction would increase the museum's attendance by 67 percent each year. The new park will be built on land owned by the museum, which presents an account of the origins of the universe and life that matches the book of Genesis. This interpretation of prehistory is generally at odds with scientific consensus, and the museum has attracted criticism from some academic and religious groups. Regardless of religious belief, this sounds like something interesting to see.
at least when god makes the earth flood we'll have an ark

Praise the lord.
I can't even believe this shit. *Hang on... Do this thing float? Had been fucking awesome to live in a Ark made up by humans thousands of years ago. Is it big enough to fit two of each animals on earth? How much do a elephant cost? Do i need two indian elephants and two african elephants? Or can i just pick one or mix around?
hallelujah
Regardless of religious belief, this sounds like something interesting to see.
A load of people wanting to build another big thing to worship their god, not really.
A load of Americans wanting to build another big thing to worship their false idol, not really.
why do you say americans i don't want to be associated with this. not one bit.
I thought ky was an american state oh well
this certainly isn't a waste of money at all
GOD DAMN IT WHY MUST I LIVE IN THIS STATE ARGHHHHHHH /rage Especially since we waste money on SHIT things, like a fucking basketball stadium whoopdefuckingdoo, and a boat... Fuck. I need more boxes so I can make a bigger and better cardboard box ark.
$24.5 Million? Make a huge wooden boat that doesn't go in the water.
The museum is entitled to spend money on whatever it wants to.
The museum is entitled to spend money on whatever it wants to.
It's still a gargantuan waste of money. Though I want to see how long it takes for them with modern technology to build this and how many people would be needed.
Ha, our religion's boat is bigger than yours, therefore it must be true.
Does this mean that guy from Jaws just wanted to convert the shark instead of killing it?
Can someone please burn that museum a copy of Darwin's On the Origin of Species on compact disc
A modified supertanker would make a better ark anyway.
According to the bible the ark was 300 cubits by 50 cubits wide by 30 cubits high. Do these people really think two of every species on this planet could fit on a boat that big?

If they build it with the same tools they had at the time as well as same technology avaible then it'd be intresting. But guaranteed they going to use diamond tipped saw blades that spin hundreds a time a minute with millimeter accuracy on every plank or support beam
Whatever floats their boat.:v:
Jesus Lord, why would you waste that money. It's just 24.5mil dedicated to making people realize "Oh fuck that can't fit all the animals"
I want to live to be as old as Adam. 980. I also want the ability to get a girlfriend like Adam Rip a rib out, throw it on the ground, and BAM! Hot naked babe.
Also, aren't replicas supposed to be of something that exists/once existed?
So? It's their money, they can spend it however the hell they want. And I can spend millions on a 100x life size statue of Darwin, if I want to...
Seems a bit excessive and expensive, but hey, if they want to spend their money that way, why not? It would be pretty cool to see in person though.
Oh the poor trees...
