Jesus fucking Christ Capcom, it's like you hate money. Just give PC users Dark Arisen rather than this free2play garbage because Capcom+F2P sounds like a match made in hell.
there is no emoticon for what i'm feeling
why no actual dragon's dogma pc, capcom, instead of f2p mmo
So wait, its not coming to the west?
I'm almost happy to hear that. I think a F2P mmo from capcom can only end badly.

I have yet to see a F2P MMO from anywhere east of Russia that doesn't end fucking catastrophic.
Like I said in the news node thread, I have serious doubts this'll be good but if the combat's as good as the singleplayer games (it's instanced, so there's no reason it can't be) and the free to play isn't too heinous I'll be down to play it. PSO2 didn't come west but plenty of people play it anyhow
If it plays like Dragon's Dogma, and it's free, I'll take it.
Now I just gotta pack up and move to Asia.
What is it with "popular" western titles getting eastern releases as F2P games as of recently? Two f2p Counterstrikes, F.E.A.R Online, Call Of Duty Online, the recently announced Borderlands Online and now this.
Assuming Capcom is even around then, maybe they will do a PC "remastered" version in 15 years.
It has potential if it's just running off an improved Dragon's Dogma engine with an open world full of dungeons and stuff.
I am VERY hesitant about it being F2P though.
I just see this as a blatant disregard for the massive amount of people that have waited and waited for a PC release. The game could be so good with platforms capable of playing it well and modern hardware and the PC as a platform is the way to go in order to deliver that experience.
If this fails, knowing Capcom, they'll scrap the series (even though the majority of people interested in the game are waiting for a proper PC port and were unwilling to purchase the game in light of the game running below 20FPS).

Chinese market opening up, they want a piece of the action.

Well, that list is fair enough but Dragon's dogma is not a western title at all. Released in the west, but it's Japanese.

The Japanese demographic also likes arcade style payment, you'll find a lot of Japanese f2p games use credit systems to play like an arcade.
The Chinese until just recently didn't have access to video game consoles, and when they grew too complex to bootleg an entire generation of gamers grew up on PC gaming.
Dragon's Dogma is so fucking awesome, but the performance issues and terrible resolution makes me not want to play it. The only game that I know of where fighting and climbing big monsters doesn't include quick time events.
Maybe one day Capcom will come to their senses and make a PC version, but I doubt it.
What's with awesome-looking games not getting proper PC releases?
I'd give my life savings for a good monster hunter game on PC in the west.
I'm going to assume this means Itsuno is busy with Devil May Cry 5.

Knowing Capcom, they probably stuck him on some mobile shit.

That would be stupid even for Capcom. Right now, everything points to DMC5 happening. DmC Definitive being made more like the previous games, DMC4 Special Edition, the DMC1 soundtrack being released digitally, and that DMC1 themed Monster Hunter 4 DLC thing. They're clearly pushing DMC as hard as they can right now, and to not include the director of the two best games would be absurdly stupid.
I love Dragon's Dogma, but news of a game breaking bug that wiped your import character into Dark Arisen that didn't get word of it's fix killed my chances for a NG+. If the bug is indeed fixed, I'll definitely play it again for months.

Shadow of the Colossus holmes.

Dragon's Dogma is not a "western" title.
It's a japanese title with english localization specifically made for the western audience as an option.
i want to die
this was my favorite game of the whole year when it was released and they already killed it
why
how the fuck do you even put microtransactions in dragon's dogma what the FUCK
I spent so much time playing Dragons Dogma and they royally fucked this up again, the first game showed so much potential and promise. They should definitely explore that because they already created an amazing game.

Asian titles are horribly notorious for micro-transactions. It's not frowned upon like it is in western gaming communities.

Holy shit really?
Goddamn Capcom, it's like you're allergic to making smart business decisions.
PC but not coming to the west? What the hell Japan.
So just to be clear, despite Capcom's hardships, they're turning down a sure way to make a ton of money by spending a little time and resources porting a widely praised game to platforms so that a substantially larger audience could play it?
Surely there's more people that are willing to buy Dragon's Dogma:DA on PS4/Xbox One/PC than Devil May Cry 4 remastered?
idk dmc4 remastered is still pretty cool
i mean dd on pc would be amazing but you cant hate dmc4
But we're talking about the last installment in a series before it had to be rebooted due to a lack of sales and general disinterest in the series. What would be more profitable? I would certainly think Dragon's Dogma would do better across Xbox One/PS4/PC platforms compared to DMC4 Remastered
Capcom really knows how to kill their IPs. First Megaman and now Dragon's Dogma.
