i have been using vista for a long time and you know, when the thing for 7 came out i did what everyone else did, made a partition and got it, and i have been using both for a while now. But it all comes down to it. I still feel that XP is a better operating system, it may be that I used it for so long but i think it's more, I just think it is a better operating system over all.
its not though.
Use 7 for the next 8 years then.

This.
XP is good, but seriously... 8 years old operating system?
You know, it's still as good as it was 8 years ago. It's not like food, it doesn't age and go bad. I only switched to 7 for 64-bit support, I can do everything in XP just as good if not sometimes better still.

This. ^
XP is by no means bad because of it's age. It's still a great OS and it's had alot of time to mature.

it didn't get worse, better OSes came out and now no one has a reason to use it other than already having it

Hardware support, performance on any machine VS Vista, performance on older machines VS 7, software compatibility, not wanting to spend large amounts of money for a new OS that might not provide a single benefit, etc.
There are plenty of reasons. Just because they don't apply to the average demographic found here of nerds with the latest hardware and software doesn't mean they aren't valid.
if you buy a brand new system not capable of running Vista or 7 then urdoinitrong.

1x Bad reading.
try reading what I said
other than already having it
if you have an existing system with XP that's either not capable of running the newer OSes or you have no reason to upgrade, thats understandable. If you get a brand new system and buy XP for it then you're a moron.

I did, but apparently you don't know how to express yourself properly.
"Already having it" was referring to XP in that sentence. As in, a license of XP. AKA, I already have XP even though it's not installed on any of my machines.
