• Help with landscape photography editing

I am not sure if this deserves an own thread but I didn't really know where to post this so sorry. I like taking landscape photographs the most but although I love editing my photos I am never really content with it. My main problem is that I just play with the sliders until I am content with the outcome. On 4chan/p/ people sometimes upload raws to see who edits them the best. So a guy uploaded 3 unimpressive photographs. This was the original. And someone turned it into this I am really liking the "fresh" and clean look of it. I tried to replicate it but couldn't manage it. I guess he made it brighter, played with the yellow and greens and the tones and dodge and burned it a bit. But I have no idea how he actually made it. I asked him but he didn't respond. Anybody got an idea? http://norristology.com/4chan/_DSC0472.NEF here is the .raw if someone wants to give it a try.
My stab at it: Could only edit that first jpeg that you posted because for some reason LR wouldn't accept the .nef you posted. Oh well. Anyway, I used CEP4 w/ the "Contrast Color Range", "Brilliance/Warmth", "Graduated ND", "Pro Contrast" and "Levels and Curves" filters to edit that picture.
Isn't it just a shadows/highlights and som contrast?
that water is beautiful
