IGN recently posted an extremely informative lexicon of upcoming comic book movies.
Superhero movies are big business these days. Major releases like Iron Man and X-Men Origins: Wolverine regularly rake in hundreds of millions of dollars for their respective studios. The Dark Knight alone made Warner Bros. richer than Scrooge McDuck in 2008. So it goes without saying that Hollywood will continue to turn out comic book movies as fast as it can produce them. The upcoming crop of adaptations is looking more and more interesting all the time. In order to keep you up to date on the numerous comic book movies in development, we've decided to combine our handy Marvel and DC Movie Slates into one feature. In this article, we list all the movies that have been announced in alphabetical order, provide a tentative release date, and summarize recent announcements and casting choices. The feature is split into Marvel, DC and indie comic sections, and we'll be expanding it even further in the coming days. So be sure to check back regularly! Will the company still be interested in a Silver Surfer spinoff at the same time? According to a recent interview with screenwriter and author of Silver Surfer: Requiem JMS, it looks like the Surfer's been put in mothballs, thanks to the under-performance (read: crapfest) of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Currently, it seems that the only high-profile Marvel properties that are priorities for Fox are: Wolverine 2, the FF reboot under Akiva Goldsman's lead and X-Men: First Class. Unless Xavier's school can make room for a Surfer cameo, fans of the character may have to wait a long time for his standalone movie to arrive. Just wow. That best describes our reaction to the news that Sony has scrapped plans for a Spidey 4 with Sam Raimi at the helm and Tobey Maguire in the mask, and instead rebooting the franchise altogether. In 3D, no less. Maybe they can call it The Amazing Spider-Man Jumps on the Bandwagon? (Zing!) Luckily, the filmmakers have found their new Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) is replacing Maguire and donning the signature red-and-blue tights. At 27 years old, hopefully Garfield can portray a convincing high schooler, unless of course the rumor about this reboot's Pete starting off at college becomes true. This new Peter Parker will be joined by Gwen Stacy rather than Mary Jane Watson this time. Emma Stone (Easy A) will play the role of Gwen, though her current red-dyed hair naturally led fans to first assume she would play MJ. In truth, MJ won't appear in this reboot, and apparently was never intended to. Meanwhile, Rhys Ifans has signed to play the villain, The Lizard. In addition, there's a new rumor out there that Sony suits want to reboot (re: crowbar) Venom into the new Spidey reboot. Also from the Rumor Mill: Mad Men's John Slattery might be up for the role of J. Jonah Jameson. Slattery is no stranger to the Marvel U, having played Tony Stark's dad in Iron Man 2. Sam Elliot is also under consideration for the role, which is proving to be a tough one to cast according to reports. More casting news? About villains? You bet! Heat Vision is reporting that Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire) will be playing a villain named Van Atter in the soon-to-be-shooting Spider-Man film. Rhys Ifans, of course, has already been cast as the Lizard. Who the heck is Van Atter, you ask? Good question. We here at IGN know us some Spider-Man, but Van Atter doesn't ring a bell. Badass Digest thinks they might know who it is, however. Brace yourself. Spidey goes back to school, Dangerfield style! "The Proto-Goblin was a character who appeared in one issue of a Spider-Man comic ever, a Flashback issue (a stunt when Marvel told 'untold tales' of characters)," explains Badass. The link being, apparently, that the character's real name was Nels van Adder. "The basic story is that he was an employee who was tested on by Norman Osborn before Osborn became the Goblin. George Stacey plays a role in that story; the reveal that Peter's parents were spies came from another Flashback issue." Finally, Martin Sheen (The West Wing) and Sally Field (Forrest Gump) have been cast as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, respectively. These are interesting casting choices, as both are surprisingly high-profile actors for what are presumably limited roles. Sheen and Field's ages suggest the filmmakers are striving for the sort of younger, hipper portrayals seen in Ultimate Spider-Man. Via Twitter, comics god and Ultimate Spider-Man author Brian Michael Bendis shared that he had "a very interesting morning at Sony with the entire Spidey movie team!! Very very cool stuff!!" Not so fast there, Comic Book Guy. That doesn't mean the Bendis is writing the new movie. Hell, Bendis clarified his own Tweet and said he is too busy adapting Fire to handle scripting duties. The next Spidey movie will be based on a script by Jamie Vanderbilt. So why didn't it work out with Team Raimi? The director said he couldn't make the original May 2011 release date and apparently once he said "I can't make your date. I can't go forward creatively," Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal and Columbia Pictures' Matt Tolmach decided to reboot the franchise from the top down - no Maguire, no Dunst - not one member of the original team that brought billions to Sony Pictures. So wait a tick - the movie is coming out Summer 2012. One year after the release date Sony wanted Raimi to stick to? Is this basically an "eff you" to the director who gave us a franchise worth caring about to begin with? If Sony is going to wait until 2012, then why can't they keep Raimi onboard? If the reasoning is just so financial quotas can be met by keeping a release date, then that doesn't bode well for Spidey 4 being creatively better than the third installment. Actor Stuart Townsend is out of the role of Fandral, and actor Joshua Dallas is in. This is the second role in a franchise Mr. Charlize Theron has lost, the first being Aragorn in LOTR. (Apparently, someone is allergic to making money.) Idris Elba, best known as The Wire's Stringer Bell, trades his street clothes for Asgard apparel, joining the cast as Heimdall. For those too lazy to Marvel Wiki, Heimdall is Asgard's guardian who has been known to have the fisticuffs with Thor once and and awhile. Joseph Gatt, best known as the mo-cap actor for Kratos in the God of War games, confirmed he'll be playing a role in the film. Our bets rest on Gatt playing either the gun-toting warrior Skurge or a Frost Giant. And we can rest easy, True Believers: Stan Lee will have a cameo in the movie, according to the man himself on Twitter. Marvel is keeping Thor close to the vest, as the project is a tougher sell to mainstream audiences than Spidey or Shellhead. Middle Earth and Hogwarts are box office gold, sure, but Norse Gods who hide in mortal shells and live in Asgard is unproven. Packaging the film with A-list talent, and casting Captain Kirk's dad from the new Star Trek movie as the titular hero, are steps in the right direction. The story will pit Thor opposite Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and promises to be a movie worthy of the character's epic origins. The risk on this project not hitting with summer-friendly audiences is higher than Marvel may like, but that will change whenever Marvel decides to roll out our first look of the Thor costume and a teaser. Speaking of which, the first Thor teaser trailer was shown at SDCC 10. The trailer shows most of the movie's main cast in action, including Hemsworth as both the god of thunder and a de-powered Donald Blake. The only evidence of this project's existence so far is a rumor report from Pajiba. According to the rumor, screenwriters are being sought and no other cast or crew have been confirmed. But if the project is under development, we imagine Don Cheadle will be ready to suit up and lay waste to his enemies again. According to a taxi driver who transpo'd the actor to a South Carolina set, he might be. As we wait on further clarification for Logan's First Class appearance, let's stick with what we do know. Director Matthew Vaughn recently gave us some news bites regarding what the story for First Class will be, and it sounds like it's kinda sorta inspired by the path taken by the recent Star Trek reboot. "It's very clever when you see how he has integrated the characters into the time period where the film is set. I'll put it that way. I just don't want to give it away... It's a very clever way of getting these characters involved in recent history, in recent world events." The story was conceived by former X-Men director Bryan Singer, who recently shared with AICN a very detailed account of what fans can expect. According to Singer, First Class will be set during the 1960's, when John F. Kennedy was president and the Civil Rights Movement was raging. Both Xavier and Magneto will be in their 20s. This explains, among other things, why so many familiar X-Men are missing from the cast. We know that Jennifer Lawrence will play Mystique, but we didn't know how much time the actress will play the character in blue-skin form, until now. According to an interview the actress gave with Jeff Wells, Lawrence implies that the blue scales used in the previous X-Men movies will make a return here, albeit a brief one. Only 10% of her screentime will be as Mystique, according to the interview. "It takes X-Men makeup artists about six hours to transform her into Mystique with the blue skins and the scales," Lawrence added. We'd guess that official photos of her in the Darkholme skin have been taken, but the actress says that the plan is to keep Mystique's look a secret until closer to the movie's release. (Good luck with that one, Fox. Remember when the character designs for Singer's first X-Men movie leaked onto AICN?) It also appears as if Havok will fill the lead role in place of his brother Cyclops. Singer also promised that more new character additions will be revealed down the road. First Class is meant to be "a new beginning" for the franchise, but it appears at this point that it can still function as a prequel to the previous four films with only relatively minor continuity quirks. And the movie has quite the roster of actors. Damages' Rose Byrne is in talks to play Dr. Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and love interest of Professor X, and actor Jason Fleming will play the teleporting Azazel, Nightcrawler's father. (Whether Azazel will be on Xavier's side or Magneto's has yet to be determined.) 2012 fans rejoice! Oliver Platt has enlisted for First Class duty, playing The Man in Black. No idea who or what that character is, but stay tuned... Cyclops will not be an official member of the First Class roster, but his brother will. Lucas Till, 19, will play Cyclops' brother, Havok, and About A Boy's Nicholas Hoult will play Beast. And Caleb Landry Jones has been confirmed to play the mutant Banshee. Oh, and mutant Riptide has joined the film as well, played by Alex Gonzalez. And, thank the gods, Twilight's Taylor What's-His-Name is not going to be playing Beast or any other mutant in this movie, despite producer Bryan Singer's urging to get the guy in a role. (Singer Fail!) The mutant Darwin will also join the cast. On the plus side, James "Wanted" McAvoy will play the younger version of Professor X in the film, which is all sorts of awesome. Michael Fassbender will play Magneto. Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) is set to play Mystique, and Mad Men's January Jones will play Emma Frost, instead of Alice Eve. Pics of her in Emma Frost attire hit the interwebs, and she is rocking the 1960s vibe. Mutant Willow may also make her appearance in the film. One of the most interesting rumors to come out of the mill is that Kevin Bacon will play mutant Sebastian Shaw. Son of Rambow star Bill Milner will play young Magneto, 2012's Morgan Lily has been cast as the Young Mystique, and Zoe Kravitz will play X-Men mutant Tempest. Vaughn re-teams with Jane Goldman, his co-writer on Kick-Ass, to do a polish on the screenplay. What is the story? According to a press release, First Class centers on the early days of Professor Charles Xavier and his School for Gifted Youngsters. It will be set in an era when Professor X and Erik Lensherr (a.k.a. Magneto) were still buds and "when they were discovering their powers for the first time. Close friends then, the two men worked with other mutants (some familiar, some new) to stop a global threat." As for whether or not Hugh Jackman will show up as the ageless Wolverine? Expect a cameo, most likely toward the end. If Fox is smart. The Wolverine Release Date: 2011 Development Status: Pre-production. A lot of people saw Wolverine, but not many of them talked about how good it was. (The script is based on Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's story arc in the comics.) Director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan) will make his comic book debut with The Wolverine. According to this report, Aronofsky is prepping for a March 2011 start date. Aronofsky recently said that the movie will be a "one-off" or standalone project, and not a direct sequel to Origins. The story centers on Wolverine's romance with a Japanese woman who's hand in marriage is promised to another man. Wolverine refuses to let her go, and the only thing standing in his way are the woman's father and the samurai nder his employ. Sabretooth himself, Liev Schrieber, revealed that he had dinner with Hugh Jackman, where they discussed the script and the potential for a Sabretooth/Wolverine reunion tour. (Since Creed is not a part of the original Japan storyline, we hope the powers-at-be do not shoehorn the character into the narrative.) No news yet on who the villain will be, but word 'round the campfire suggests that the demon swordsmith Muramasa will appear, and that Omega Red or Silver Fox are potential candidates. The Japan storyline could work out to be as good as X2, if not better. As long as it doesn't have memory-wiping bullets or a boxing match with Blob, it's already better than the first Wolverine movie. X-Men 4 Release Date: Unknown Development Status: X4 is officially a project on our geekdar, and it seems that the director responsible for the first two installments in the mutant franchise is angling for some involvement on the fourth film. In a recent interview with The LA Times, director Bryan Singer and producer Lauren Shuler-Donner shed light on the project, with the implication being that Singer wants to direct the film. The director is quoted as telling Shuler-Donner to "hold that one off for just a little, I'm fixated on [X-Men: First Class]right now," to which she responds, ""I will, I will ... I'm holding it open with high hopes. It's totally different [from First Class] and it will be so interesting for you." So what do we make of this, X-Men fans? Looks like the powers-at-be are going the Anti-Ratner route as they plan to launch the next phase of Wolverine and Co.'s live-action plan. And they have the right man for the job. The movie will also show us how Cap's costume and shield will evolve. Marvel bigwig Kevin Feige recently chatted up the movie at an Iron Man 2 press event, and revealed that Chris Evans' costume tests "are pretty amazing." Director Joe Johnston also recently talked about when the story will take place. "[It will begin] in 1942, 1943... The stuff in the '60s and '70s [comic books] we're sort of avoiding," the director said. "We're going back to the '40s, and then forward to what they're doing with Captain America now." Oh, and The Howling Commandos will make an appearance. Also rumored to make an appearance is former Harvey Dent, Tommy Lee Jones. UGO claims that Jones is up for an unspecified role in the Marvel movie, which is set primarily during World War II. IGN contacted Jones' camp at CAA, who said they'd never heard the rumor before and thus had no comment on it. Johnston recently hinted as to story connections between Captain America and other Marvel Studios films, saying fans should expect elements of the Cap movie to pay off down the road. "We have several subtle references to certain elements in Thor, but since Captain America is a period picture taking place in the '40s, there are fewer opportunities for contemporary links to the rest of the Marvel universe. We can, however, create events in our story that will be paid off in Avengers and other Marvel pictures." The Captain America cast and crew were at SDCC this summer, and even showed off some early footage to the audience. The footage was culled from the first eight days of shooting and included a brief glimpse of Evans in costume. And should that sequel get made, it won't happen before The Avengers - so says Marvel overlord Kevin Feige. More and more, it appears as if Hulk's next appearance will be in the Avengers ensemble movie rather than another solo venture. The film rights were previously held by Artisan Entertainment, with Ray Park (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace) expected to don the flamboyantly colorful tights of Danny Rand. Now that Iron Fist is under the control of Marvel Studios, it seems the movie is finally being pulled out of development hell. Aside from the complete and utter lack of forward momentum on the project in recent months, word came that Bryan Singer was returning to the franchise he started to direct X-Men: First Class, an origin/prequel tale about Marvel's band of merry mutants. The thing is, part of that story is to involve the young Magneto and his relationship with the young Professor Xavier. That seemed to be the nail in the Magneto solo-film coffin, and now Singer has pretty much confirmed as much. "This story would probably utilize some of the Magneto story because it deals with a young Magneto, so it might supersede that because this would explore that relationship between a young energetic professor and a disenfranchised victim of the Holocaust," the director tells The Hollywood Reporter. Contrary to popular rumors, however, Nathan Fillion will not be playing Ant-Man/Hank Pym. Nor will any other actor, as Whedon confirmed Ant-Man won't be appearing in The Avengers. Fans will have to wait for Edgar Wright's solo Ant-Man film instead. Looks like Black Widow may be the only female Avenger in the film, but she will not be the only woman on screen, according to Joss Whedon. (Do we smell a Pepper Potts cameo?) In the interview, Whedon also dropped a few more story hints: "It will be a new story that has many things from different arcs of the comics in it." The writer-director implied that aspects of the plot will be taken from The Ultimates and the original comics. Also, Renner said that Hawkeye and Black Widow will have some sort of relationship in the film. But what we want to know is, what is in store for Nick Fury? Samuel L. They're fans of the character and they were so excited. We couldn't have done any better [than Reese and Wernick]." Reynolds later elaborated on the tone of the script in an interview with Hero Complex. "It goes in such a different direction than a superhero movie usually goes," he said. "It's a nasty piece of work. It's just based in so much emotional filth, completely. It's like Barfly if it were a superhero movie. It sort of treads into the world of an emotionally damaged person. I always say that Deadpool is a guy in a highly militarized shame spiral… It's so different than the superhero movies to date, it departs so far from that." Reynolds will sport Hal Jordan's ring before he will reprise his role as Deadpool in this X-Men Origins: Wolverine spin-off. Recently, long-time X-Men producer Lauren Shuler-Donner revealed that the character's depiction in Wolverine will get – all together now – the reboot treatment, seeing as how the last time we saw Deadpool his head was spiraling away from his body in free fall, while firing Cyclops' optic blasts. But, the solo movie will somehow address Deadpool-as-Weapon-11 in the story. (Could be wrong, but that sounds like a threat to us.) 20th Century Fox, home to the X-Men movies, will release the movie, and put one of Xavier's mutants in it. The rumor is that Colossus will have a role (reportedly more than a cameo) in the new movie. Also joining Deadpool are: Wade Wilson's love interest Vanessa Carlysle (said to be a major plot element), his pal Blind Al, contact Patch, and Weapon X teammates Sluggo, Wyre, Ajax and Garrison Kane. Also, expect that mouth of his to get a serious workout, with the character breaking the fourth wall on occasion. And yes, we will learn how he got those scars. The movie will likely be Marvel Studios' first film under their new parent company, Disney, once Marvel's obligations to Paramount expire after the release of Iron Man 3. And just who will be responsible for adapting Dr. Stephen Strange's live-action exploits? Writers Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. They previously worked on, ahem, Sahara (*open palm slap to forehead*) and A Sound of Thunder (*explodes*). Let's hope their work on Sony's adaptation of videogame Uncharted was good enough to warrant this Marvel mainstay being put in their hands. He's been looking for a movie for quite some time, it would be a shame that when he finally gets one it's Sahara'd. The Human Torch and Doctor Doom also have rumored contenders in the running for those respective roles. True Blood's Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton on the HBO series, is up for the role of Latverian despot Victor Von Doom. The site claims an "offer is currently out" to the actor, and that "Doom will be showcased as the ruler of Latveria and a master of the mystic arts" in the film. Model-turned-90210 actor Kevin Pennington is the front runner to play Johnny Storm. Bruce Willis and Kiefer Sutherland are rumored to be on the short-list to voice the all-CG version of The Thing. Who does Fox want to direct the film? At the top of their wish list are: Joe Carnahan, Harry Potter's David Yates and James McTeigue. This F4 movie is the first salvo to come in the wake of Disney-Marvel came from 20th Century Fox, as the studio confirmed rumors from earlier this year that Marvel's First Family will get exposed to hopefully beneficial reboot rays. Who will spearhead the project? Oscar-winning scribe and Fringe writer and executive producer Akiva Goldsman. You might remember him from such nipplefests as Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Yep, the sequel is being written by Marc Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti and Michael Green - who worked on the first film. as the first movie just wrapped production. Warner Bros. is very confident about their first live-action trip to Oa with Hal and Sinestro. Speaking of Sinestro, Geoff "Blackest Night" Johns recently confirmed via Twitter that actor Mark Strong is playing Hal Jordan's nemesis in the new movie. Strong recently spoke to USA Weekend regarding his role as both Hal's mentor and eventual nemesis. Basically, expect Strong's Sinestro to adhere closely to the comic book character's aesthetic, complete with Sinestro eyes courtesy of special contact lenses. While on location in New Orleans, Johns also commented on how many different flavors of awesome sauce live-action Oa, Kilowog and the Guardians will be. And a photo leaked from the set appears to give us our first look at Abin Sur's spaceship. The actor playing Sur, Temuera Morrison, recently showed off his alien make-up to one lucky reporter during an interview, and he also revealed that the filmmakers want Sur for a sequel. Should that pan out, the story would address in some fashion how Sur became a member of the GLC. (Does that mean a sequel will revolve loosely around the plot of Secret Origin?) And expect Hal Jordan's Lantern suit to be fully CG, using a similar process Warner Bros. employed on Watchmen for Dr. Manhattan. Casting continues to ramp up speed on the production, with Angela Bassett playing fan-favorite Dr. Amanda Waller. (Are DC and WB going to position Waller the way Marvel is positioning Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury?) Character actor Jay O. Sanders is playing Carl Ferris, the owner of Ferris Air and father to Blake Lively's character, Carol. Hal's father will be played by actor Jon Tenney. Oscar-winner Tim Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of one of the movie's villains, Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), who later becomes infused with psychic powers. (And we're not quite sure if that means his head will resemble anything like his comic book counterpart's.) According to Campbell, fans can expect Hal's power ring to take him into space, where the Corps serve and protect the galaxy. "I don't know what the percentage is, but there's quite a bit in space," Campbell said in a recent interview with MTV. He added later, "I think there will be enough to satisfy everybody." We can also expect a trip to Oa, the Guardians' homeworld, as well as some training sessions with Kilowog. Up until now, Campbell and star Ryan Reynolds have kept their take pretty close to the vest, but a recent GL casting call announcement alludes that a Secret Origin storyline could be in the works...ish. According to Reynolds, Hal Jordan's Coast City origins will not play as big a role in the narrative as fans may have hoped. "It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act," Reynolds said in a recent interview. "The movie starts when it starts. We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins." Reynolds also commented that he has seen the prototype costumes for Sector 2814's greatest hero, and that they are a step in the right direction. Popular DC writer and CCO of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns has nothing but praise for the production. "The movie looks fantastic," he tells CBR. "...I just watched the Abin Sur/Hal Jordan dailies, and it's amazing seeing that ring passed to Hal in live action. Abin Sur looks kick-ass. And Ryan Reynolds is a perfect Hal Jordan. He brings a lot of humor to it, but he also has the humanity that Hal has. And a little bit of the arrogance, so it's a great match." Fans waiting for their first real glimpse of Reynolds in his CG costume can finally stop holding their breath. Entertainment Weekly revealed the costume on a recent issue cover. We weren't expecting quite so many lines, but the design does seem to stick pretty close to that of the comics. Parallax is the villain, and it looks like he will be joined by Krona, who is best known as the Oan scientist who single-handedly (and inadvertently) created DC's Multiverse. The first footage of the film was shown at Comic-Con. You can see what we thought of the preview here. The Green Lantern panel also revealed new details and confirmed others. Parallax is serving as the main villain alongside Hector Hammond, while Sinestro's fall from grace won't take full effect until the sequel. Other significant GL allies for Hal in this movie are said to include Kilowog, Tomar-Re, Salaak and Bzzd. Shortly after Comic-Con, WB also released a set of four teaser posters for the film. These interconnected posters feature head-shots of Hal, Carol, Sinestro, and Hammond, offering the first real glimpse of what the latter two will look like on screen. More recently they released the first official trailer. Campbell's never ventured into epic sci-fi territory before, which is what the GLU becomes, so the verdict is still out on how he will handle the balance between story and special effects. good fucking god A fucking Gambit movie? Really? Fucking Gambit?
No mention of Dark Knight Rises?
I must see the deadpool movie when it comes out
No mention of Dark Knight Rises?
They forgot Batman! Off with their heads!
What I'm looking forward to most would have to be Iron Man 3, Deadpool, Thor, Cpt. America and maybe The Avengers. [editline]4th December 2010[/editline] Shit, totally forgot Kick Ass 2. Cannot wait for that.
I'm quite bored of super hero films now, Deadpool is the only one I'm interested in. I haven't read any of the comics, but what I've seen posted in the LMAO pics thread interested me.
I hope they don't fuck up Dredd.
Where's The Goon?
Apart from Deadpool this looks like shit. This really is the second coming of bad comic book movies.
I bet the Blade movie will not be released anytime soon. (since wesley is going to jail and all)
good fucking god A fucking Gambit movie? Really? Fucking Gambit?
Hey Gambit is cool. Well, except in the live-action movie. I mean he didn't even have an accent.
I'm going to be so fucking sick of these movies pretty soon here.
Jesus christ that's a lot of marvel shit. Here's hoping these reboots have learned from how shit their predecessors were.
I think it's interesting how films based on comics seem to be either terrible or great.
What the hell happened to Miller's Dick Tracy movie?
A new Spider Man movie? The first one only came out... :sigh:
good fucking god A fucking Gambit movie? Really? Fucking Gambit?
Gambit is the best man. Also I hope that Wanted 2 stays canceled.
Gah I find it irritating how many very recent franchises they're trying to "reboot". Take a lesson from Chris Nolan's Batman success. If they sucked or the last in the series killed the franchise stone dead then just leave them the fuck alone for a good while before trying to reboot them. Also who in their right mind would green light another Ghost Rider?
I haven't even heard of half of these. I think most of them are just because the movie industry is lazy as fuck and would rather use existing ideas.
I hope that the Daredevil reboot is better than the original, I had such high hopes for it. And Preacher could be amazing if done right.
I haven't even heard of half of these. I think most of them are just because the movie industry is lazy as fuck and would rather use existing ideas.
i don't think you understand how the film industry works
50% of these will be horrible, 25% will be passable, 15% will be good, 9% will be awesome and 1% will be incredible.
"SUPERMAN Nolan will turn his attention to it after he finishes work on the script for Batman 3. A tough life this man leads..." Yeah except wrong. Nolan stated the film is entirely in Snyders hand's now.
