First time I've ever made a thread like this so :v:
The show is slightly good, but mostly meant for teens. It'll end soon, I know it

They plan on making at least a minimum of 100 episodes before ending, which, I believe they'll hit this season or next.
If they do well enough they may go past that.
The one thing that bugs me a lot about this show is that the clones disobey orders a lot when they shouldnt like in the Umbara series.I mean the Kamino prime minister said specificly clones follow any order without question in ep. 2.Other than that though, this is a great show and has some great animation.

WELL the clones are humans too, I mean Krell more or less was giving them orders that only Imperial Guard would give. I mean even if they were breed for being soldiers doesn't mean that have some form of humanity.

Ya but they did add genetic modifications to the clones, and wouldnt the prime minister know how clones act considering he is the leader of the people who clone them.

Haha holy shit dude I can't tell you how wrong you are. While it IS marketed towards younger people and is easier to watch even if you're new to Star Wars, it caters to lore nerds so much it's not even funny.
so many EU references

Just seeing how everything slowly gets up to the Episode 3 era is slightly chilling, the redesign of the Clonestroopers so that they look closer to the Stormtroopers and in Season 5 trailer with that clips showing off Anakin's anger to that guy in the restaurant.
I could guess that at the end of the show itself there will be an episode where Palpatine is captured and brought along that ship we see at the start of Episode 3?
Anakin showed some real anger in Season 4 when he thought [sp]Obi-Wan[/sp] was dead.
Surprisingly great show once you get further into the first season.
Can't wait to see Ahsoka get brutally murdered and never mentioned ever again though.

That'd be pretty great, then re-make the whole Episode 3 into the show's style and then turn it into Galactic Civil War era completely is something I'd love for them to do at the end of the Clone Wars :v:
I've heard nothing but good things about this. Which is great because Star Wars fans kick up a fuss about fucking everything.
I honestly feel sorry for George Lucas, it's his damn vision he should be allowed to do what he wants with it.

His original vision for Star Wars sucked. The only reason why it turned out so well was because of his team and editors that made it better and made it work.

We learned how well Star Wars turns out when Lucas takes the helm from the updated versions of the original episodes.

ok
Regardless of what you think of it, to berate an old man until he feels so damn depressed he has to retire isn't acceptable.

Specially over a couple of CGI edits on a fucking Blu-Ray

The cgi edits are a big deal though because Lucas is replacing a lot of peoples hard work with cgi scenes, its insulting to the people who put time and effort into the old effects.

He wouldn't have got berated if he listened to his fans.

People berate him because he stopped releasing the old versions and keeps trying to shove that kind of shit down our throats. Mad respect to the guy, but when it comes to ideas he's more like a quarry worker than an artist. He can bring up some cool looking rocks but he needs the chisels of the rest of the producers and creators to make his rough ideas into a great film. When he has more control, things get a little bit too focused on making new "world building" stuff and not enough on the characters (Star Wars prequels).
Expanded Universe stuff like this show is a great example of what I'm talking about--all the things he kept throwing at the screen in the prequels can make great stories when you tighten the focus.
[editline]29th August 2012[/editline]
Plus, as to the edits, what if Spielberg went back and kept adding shit to Jaws? Imagine cgi shark at the bottom of the boat at the end and instead of saying "Smile you son of a b-" he just said "Smile!"
[editline]29th August 2012[/editline]
That's what it feels like :(

Yeah, when I hear about how he feels about all the flak he gets, it does sound really sad.
I don't think any of us wish that upon him.
Although, if he really cares about fan response so much, why didn't he stop fiddling with the original trilogy after the "Greedo shot first" thing? Instead he keeps doing it to this day, and even wears a "Han shot first" T-Shirt to show he knows about fan complaints, but doesn't actually care enough to change it back.
So yes, complaining about relatively unimportant things such as movie edits to the point where he becomes depressed is unacceptable, but you've got to admit that he had plenty opportunities to back down, but chose not to.
Anyway, to get back on topic: is this show any good? I've heard positive whispers of this show before, but I remember that there was a Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and that it was terrible.
How similar is it to the movie, beyond the title and the visual style? Is it well written?
I still prefer the drawn animated series though.
Season 1 was a bit rocky but Season 2 was brilliant. Shame they didn't do more.

I think they were both great.
I think they were both great.
They were both good I just felt season 2 was a lot more cohesive, better pacing etc.

I'd kinda (even though we'd possibly never get it) love to see a episode take place during Episode 3 where the order to kill all Jedi was given and we follow a sole group of Jedi try and survive the order or even Clone Troopers who disobey the order and fight their way out of Empire/Republic's grip.

The scene where Greivous in the drawn series takes out the group of Jedi in that downed ship, I was screaming for the second part of that episode to air on TV.

The movie is just for kids and it isn't that good, but the TV show is different, it's got some really dark moments and the action is really good. It's a lot more grown up and sometimes gets away with inappropriate things that most stuff on TV doesn't.
Clone Troopers literally cannot disobey orders, they're made to be 100% loyal. Fuck, even Commander Cody followed through with it.
A some clones in the EU disobeyed.
There were quests involving one in Star Wars Galaxies, and you got his EP3 styled armour as a reward IIRC.
Delta Squad also disobeyed according to Wookieepedia.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Order_66#Execution_of_the_Order
As noted, not all clone troopers obeyed the Order. On Murkhana, Roan Shryne and Olee Starstone were rescued from Order 66 by members of the Ion Team. Led by Climber, they initially questioned the validity of the order, and even upon confirmation, refused to side with the government over those who had fought alongside them, having developed an affinity for the Jedi. Omega Squad, Delta Squad, and Ordo Skirata did not even hesitate to disobey the order, though all of them feigned compliance to avoid suspicion, as they had already formed doubts about Palpatine and his new Centax Clones. Captain Maze, as well, did not execute Arligan Zey. In all other recorded instances, Commandos and ARC troopers obeyed it.
I have the Republic Commando: Order 66 book, I need to start reading it.
Clone Troopers literally cannot disobey orders, they're made to be 100% loyal. Fuck, even Commander Cody followed through with it.
That was stated by the prime minister of Kamino but apparently thats not true.
Clone Troopers literally cannot disobey orders, they're made to be 100% loyal. Fuck, even Commander Cody followed through with it.
but that's been proven false in the EU
They had some brutal deaths in this show, I remember when the hatches in the air vents were closing, and a guy got cut in half.
They've shown people get impaled too, no blood, and they were Alien.
I don't think we've seen any Human brutal deaths not counting Clones, since when they die like that they're wearing their helmets, so it de-humanizes' them.
