Alright H&S, I'm back with another one of my annoying threads. By the way, HDDs, Optical Drives and a monitor are already covered. CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706 OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116716 Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341016 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150351 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227479 Thermal Paste: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119204 Heatsink/Fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118019 Well, did I finally do it right this time, did I go overkill Joe or did I choose a bunch of overpriced shitty parts this time? By the way, the budget hits the ceiling at 800 bucks besides shipping, etc.
RAM is slow and hs/f is overpriced. Other than that, pretty good.
RAM is slow and hs/f is overpriced. Other than that, pretty good.
Thanks for the advice, I'm not too good with HS/Fs , would you mind recommending one?

Anyone else?
Curiousity. What's the monitor like.

This OS, not the retail version: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754
I thought arctic paste was the best >_>
Usually it is.
Arctic Silver 5 is not the best.
Get a 5770 if you can. [editline]09:32PM[/editline] Or an HD 4890.
Okay guys, I've changed up the build a bit with your recommendations and some of my tastes, what do you think? I'm afraid the 5770 in this build might be bottlenecked by the CPU. CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150464 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371030 Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409 OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754 HS/F: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 Thermal Paste: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112237
Not likely
Thanks.
If it does in the RARE case, just refund and get another CPU.
If it does in the RARE case, just refund and get another CPU.
What does this have to do with the case?
Don't get AC 5. It's outdone by the newer pastes temp wise and has a curing time unlike the newer ones. [editline]03:17AM[/editline] If you're not overclocking then use the heatsink that comes with the CPU (perfectly adequate for stock speeds/voltage) - no need to spend $30 on a HSF and no need to get any thermal paste either (pre-applied to AMD cooler).
What does this have to do with the case?
CPU (The Processor) I was replying to your comment fearing of it bottlenecking the graphics card.
Ah, now I understand what you meant by the word case. I'm starting to wonder if Asperger's syndrome has become contagious, because I think I'm starting to get it. :tinfoil:
Like ferrus said, if you don't plan on doing any extreme overclocking just use the stock heatsink/paste the CPU comes with. People who own the athlon II X4 have reported being able to OC to ~3.2 GHz on the stock heatsink/paste.
Alright, thanks for the advice. Is everything else good?
Hmm, I guess this build is official now.
Okay, sorry I had to bump this thread again but I'm a little iffy about the power supply. Will it run everything okay without it being the bare minimum required to run it?
Okay, sorry I had to bump this thread again but I'm a little iffy about the power supply. Besides you aren't using more than 400W even under load with the parts you have. Although generally you want to have at least a 10% wattage overhead because PSUs have a habit of getting weaker as the temps in the case get hotter.

The 5xxx series takes like no power at all. Which shows by the temps they run at. (5750s run around 27C)
Thanks.
