• Is the Acer Aspire V-3 771G Good for gaming?

I just ordered it and I need some help. I am not experienced when it comes to laptops. I hope it is not bad. The specs are 8gig ram (4x2) Intel I7 2.3 ghz NVIDIA geforce 650Gtm 2gb DDR 3 750gb HDD And with bluray e.t.c. So do you think this can handle Guild Wars 2 or BF3 at a reasonable framerate?
It should be able to run BF3 at around 35-40 fps on Medium settings, 25-30ish on high. As for GW2, around 40 fps on low, 30ish on high. Is that reasonable? You tell me. Assuming you meant the GeForce GT 650m, the GPU isn't all that great. What did you pay for that laptop?
About 1400 Dollars. Is that a bad price?
[QUOTE=General;37685168]About 1400 Dollars. Is that a bad price?[/QUOTE] Yes. I paid $1400 for my Asus G75, here are the specs: i7-3610QM @ 2.3GHz 12GB DDR3 1600 RAM (Supports up to 16GB) GeForce GTX 670M with 3GB GDDR5 500GB 7200rpm HDD (Secondary bay available) Native resolution: 1920x1080 on a 17.3" screen. I can run Skyrim on ultra with graphics enhancement mods at 50-60 fps. BF3 would run at 50ish fps on high settings. Plus, the cooling is better than any other laptop out there. I looked at that laptop and it costs about 2k where I live. Should I go for that one instead?

If you can't stand playing games on low/medium settings, sure, if your budget goes that high. It's treated me exceptionally well so far though, I've had it since June. [editline]16th September 2012[/editline] Maybe try finding a refurbished G75 for a lower price? [editline]16th September 2012[/editline] If you don't mind low/medium settings, stick with the one you ordered.
Hmm. Are you sure the specs on the acer can only handle medium graphics? If so I will order the asus
[QUOTE=General;37685280]Hmm. Are you sure the specs on the acer can only handle medium graphics? If so I will order the asus[/QUOTE] High will definitely be a big stretch.
Considering that I got a slightly less powerful laptop (Asus G53sw-xr1) for half the price ($700) that still runs Battlefield 3 on medium at around 40-45 frames @ 1920x1080, I'd say look for a cheaper option... Gaming laptops aren't really built to a high standard of quality so they start breaking after around two years anyway. [editline]16th September 2012[/editline] I certainly wouldn't trust ASUS refurbished again though, they left a frigging loose screw rattling around in my laptop just waiting to short something out and forgot to fasten down the hard drive.
My Sager 11 inch netbook has a 650m. And is only $850
A LAPTOP FOR GAMING? BLASPHEMY!
