INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Civil rights leaders Friday called for a “Django Unchained” actress to apologize to the Los Angeles Police Department after she claimed officers racially profiled her. Project Islamic Hope President Najee Ali, Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson and other civil rights leaders held a meeting at 9:30 a.m. denouncing Daniele Watts after a recent incident. Watts, 28, was detained by officers responding to an “indecent exposure” call on Sept. 11 in the 11900 block of Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. Police said they had received several calls about a couple having sex in a parked vehicle. Watts, a black woman, said they were merely showing affection and claims officers were racially profiling her because she with her white boyfriend, Chef Brian James Lucas.
http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2014/09/19/civil-rights-leaders-denounce-django-unchained-actress-demand-apology-to-lapd/
"Project Islamic Hope" "LA Civil Rights activists" [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Somehow I feel that they're quite the opposite of civil rights activists. for those who are skeptical:
We can't support gay marriages, abortion, or any issues that are un-Islamic
yeah, sureee
Watts, a black woman, said they were merely showing affection and claims officers were racially profiling her because she with her white boyfriend, Chef Brian James Lucas.
Because she with her white boyfriend? What does that mean? Am I missing something? Did they mean to say "Because she, with her white boyfriend,... were something something something?"
Because she with her white boyfriend? What does that mean? Am I missing something? Did they mean to say "Because she, with her white boyfriend,... were something something something?"
They probably meant to say "she was with her white boyfriend.
"Project Islamic Hope" "LA Civil Rights activists" [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Somehow I feel that they're quite the opposite of civil rights activists.
Quote from Najee Ali:
We can't support gay marriages, abortion, or any issues that are un-Islamic
A civil rights activist that doesn't support other people's civil rights..
Because she with her white boyfriend? What does that mean? Am I missing something? Did they mean to say "Because she, with her white boyfriend,... were something something something?"
The point was that the Police must have assumed a black woman isn't good enough for a white man and therefore any interaction between the two must mean the woman is a prostitute. It just turns out that she was straddling him in some crappy car and actually did give off the impression to passersby that she was a prostitute.
Isn't there a difference between not supporting something and condemning something though?

In all serious though, this specific guy is a complete bellend as far as civil rights goes, yeah.

Why is this notable. She was an extra who appeared in the movie for a minute. She was Coco, the girl who answered the door and said "Bon Jour" and "entre" really southern like and not at all french sounding

not sure if late, but supposedly she was straddling her boyfriend with the door open as people walked by can't really see much, but the fact that this warranted a photograph tells me they were most likely getting it on lol @ anyone who thinks her detainment was racist, gtfo
god you should have listened to her on cnn trying to justify herself disgusting
holy fuck, im listening to the audio recording while she was being detained, and her strongest points of defense were her experience as an actress and the respect she deserves because of that. dumb bitch.
Because she with her white boyfriend? What does that mean? Am I missing something? Did they mean to say "Because she, with her white boyfriend,... were something something something?"
Yeah, my inner reading voice snapped it's finger and bobbed it's head while reading that.
They probably meant to say "she was with her white boyfriend.
Sounds reasonable.
No really? It's not like, you know, I said "this specific guy is a complete bellend as far as civil rights goes, yeah." Your selective reading is amazing there mate.
Well then how was he being an Islamaphobe? Am I missing something?
