Ive recently had to reformat my computer for the first time, and when reinstalling XP everything goes fine until a box that pops up titled "regional and language options". This wouldn't normally be a problem except that when I try to press "continue" to finish installing XP, I see that my mouse cursor has disappeared and I cant even use my keyboard to finish the setup Any suggestions about how to fix this problem?
What settings did you put the keyboard at? Should be United States (International)
Not if that's not the kind of keyboard he's using. OP, make sure your mouse and keyboard are plugged in properly. Also, certain USB keyboards and mice don't work in the installation environment unless USB compatibility is turned on in the BIOS. Are you keyboard and mouse USB (Rectangular connector) or PS/2 (Cylindrical Connector)?
