no pc demo? no buy.
A demo before release? This is how games used to work and still should.
I "love" how no one gives a damn about PC...
I "love" how no one gives a damn about PC...
They didn't release any demo of DS2 for PC too.
I "love" how no one gives a damn about PC...
More income on consoles [editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
They didn't release any demo of DS2 for PC too.
I think they did. I remember it was on Gaikai.
More income on consoles
And the fact that they do it because of that sickens me.
PC demo's also last a lot longer in general. For example the Just Cause 2 demo in which you could spawn cars, weapons, stop the timer and disable the barrier of where you can't go. (With the use of BoloHack or whatever it was called) I spent around 10-11 hours in that demo just by having cool stunts and cop chases :v:
If you have a PC and cant play the demo here it is.(and it looks bad)
If you have a PC and cant play the demo here it is.(and it looks bad)
don't you say exactly this with everything to do with this game though
don't you say exactly this with everything to do with this game though
Yes.
i fucking hate it when developers improve on existing concepts, change locale, and add new features, and call it a sequel
What do you expect from a sequel? Do you want dead space 3 to be about Issac Clarke and his new-found singing career? If you want a new game then heres an idea, buy another game that isn't dead space?
the consoles are turning games to movies. not long now before games literally become 90% qtes.
Have you played the other dead space games? They've all included QTEs, and this video had only one in the entire sequence. Also, I really like how they made the game co-op, but completely optional, going so far as to completely change the game up to preserve that single player isolation.
it was a joke
Oops, lol. Sorry about that.
Oops, lol. Sorry about that.
He's still right though. Doing the same thing over, 3 times is somewhat tedious. People still buy it so it must do well, right? On hindsight, variety never hurts.
the consoles are turning games to movies. not long now before games literally become 90% qtes.
Hey. Uhhh. Considering gaming as we know it only exists because of consoles (seriously, we'd be nowhere if things like the original home Pong machines didn't exist, or the NES never happened, etc.), stop blaming them for everything. Games having more quick-time events is not a fault of consoles, you are a howling retard to think that. It's a progression in gaming that may or may not continue, but is the fault of the consumers wanting more cinematic experiences in their games (nothing wrong with that). Stop blaming consoles for everything you fucks, actually think about the causes rather than just blaming something that isn't the root cause.

It had about 2 or 3 stages and a boss fight. It was really cool. Back then, I had nothing else to play other than some shit games, so I just played the demo over and over, even though it ran like crap due to a fucked up PC. And on the same CD as that Painkiller demo, there was also a UT2k4 demo with a few gamemodes and stuff. I still consider those years as some of the best years for video games. No modern shooter #3453255624, expansion packs with actual content that were actually rare instead of day 1 DLC in EVERYTHING, technological breakthroughs like HL2 knocking on the door, games that were actually designed for the PC instead of being ported... Ah... That takes me back... [editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
i fucking hate it when developers improve on existing concepts, change locale, and add new features, and call it a sequel
Oh really? I hate it when a new idea gets milked and grows into something else we've seen before just to sell more. See: Resident Evil series Modern Warfare series (although these didn't really change, they just kept on making small changes and milking it)
i fucking hate it when developers improve on existing concepts, change locale, and add new features, and call it a sequel
It can be badly done and improving parts of the game (action) while not improving on other parts (not action/horror/pacing) which is pretty apparent here. Its not always a good thing, RE suffered from this from RE4-RE5-RE6, it improved upon the dumb shit, much like Dead space 3 is improving on the shit that doesnt really set it apart from other games, that being action.
He's still right though. Doing the same thing over, 3 times is somewhat tedious. People still buy it so it must do well, right? On hindsight, variety never hurts.
Why not just... you know... Stop milking it?
except if the action is done right (which it was in 2), it does set it apart from other games the difference between dead space 2 and re5 is that dead space 2 is a good game the same will be true for ds3 and re6, at least, it better fucking be, considering how horrid re6 is across the board also, re never improved on the dumb shit, it only got worse and worse, re4 was great, 5 was ok, and 6 was dear god no ds has never been anything near the awesome that re2 was and frankly, it shouldn't be, it is clear that the creators didn't want it to be 3spooky5me and i'm glad they changed the gameplay for it
Dead space 3 wont be as bad as RE5 or RE6 but its following the same path as them. Better action and more cinematic shit, better movement(this doesnt mean its actually better for the game) shit like that, also probably more jump scares than their have already been in 1 and 2 just to make sure you arent bored, you can say those are improvements but its improving the wrong things. Dead Space 3 is just becoming a more streamlined game to appeal to the masses, so dumber, easier, action packed, which really makes no sense since Dead Space was already streamlined and fine also its a third game in a series whos publisher is EA. Its just going to be fun, nothing special. Watch the first walkthrough video I posted, that just looks so fucking dumb it blows my mind Dead Spaces logo is gonna be slapped on that game.
I "love" how no one gives a damn about PC...
I don't know what everyone is crying about, it's obvious the free way to get a game.
that's what I meant by consoles - the average dumb consumers that make that kind of shit possible. this only started with this generation since it was introduced to a wider audience.
It's the result of something called commercialism, ie "I know that the next *insert generic shooter sequel* is going to be shit but I'm going to buy it anyway." It's not so much consoles as much as the fact that gaming has become more mainstream and has attracted a lot of people without taste, the lowest common denominator as one might put it. It just so happens that this group is large enough to support even the lowest of efforts as long as the videogame is a household name, giving companies less incentive to put work into a product because it is more profitable to shell out a clone of the last game that will sell well than an original masterpiece that may not. All in all it's a really awful catch 22, as a medium that is less popular is alienated horribly (video games cause violence), but a medium that is popular tends to degenerate and stagnate so that companies can maximize profits. The entertainment industry, like any other business, does not have standards because standards are not profitable.
