Hey im looking to upgrade my current system to something that will have faster running speed's but upgrading to a limited budget. My current specs are: Q6600 Asus P5N32E-SLI Plus ATI 4850 3GB 800Mhz Corsair ram I was looking to upgrade due to the motherboard not accepting anymore than 3Gb of ram and just generally playing up. What i was looking at is: Gigabyte GA-EP43T-USB3 Intel P43 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/components/motherboards/intel775allchipsetmotherboards/Gigabyte/GA-EP43T-USB3.html Corsair XMS3 TwinX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/components/memory-pcandlaptop/ddr3-pc3-10666/1333mhz/Corsair/TW3X4G1333C9A.html Now im unsure what to do as i am unsure wether this will really give my system a great boost, would i be better off investing in a more modern motherboard+i5 750?
The core2 quads are now old now and while they'll still perform quite well it would be better to invest in new technology. If you want to save some money then go for the AMD Phenom range which performs similarly to the i5 but is a fair bit cheaper (both the motherboard and processor). Also the price on Novatech are a bit high, use http://www.scan.co.uk/ instead
