I am having problem where ever since I plugged my laptop into my TV with a HDMI cable nearly all of my programs are freezing, rainmeter, winamp, explorer etc. Nearly everything I use randomly freezes at some point... Can someone please help me figure this out? Also my speakers have a constant buzz coming out of them now it's plugged into my tv... What could that be? Thanks in advance guys
HDMI carries audio as well as visuals, so if you want the sound to come ONLY out of your TV and not the laptop's you need to disable the laptops sound in Sound Settings and set default as the hdmi sound
I am aware of this, it just sounds staticy
Any suggestions? AKA bump
The static is caused by excess power running through the HDMI cable to your laptop from the TV which could be a cause of your crashes, try unplugging your power cable from the laptop just to be sure that it is actually the TV, if it is then there is not much you can do about it :\ Could of told you through steam, but I need the post count :v:
Haha get on steam then? Need a catch up brah. Anyway, how could this be the case if I am not using the HDMI for sound? What I've done is plugged my speakers into the headphone jack in the TV... These crashes happen when I press some keys on my multi media keyboard like pressing the "Play/Pause" button sometimes causes programs to crash
Hmm, if you are not using the HDMI cable for sound, why do you have your pc speakers plugged into your TV? You wouldn't have audio from your laptop then? Also most TV 3.5mm headphone jacks carry small ohms of electricity and usually there is not much you can do in terms of stopping the buzzing except turning the speakers down and the TV up which usually ends up having quiet/shite audio. Another thing you could do is use the RCA audio connectors on the TV, and get some form of speakers/home cinema system to connect that too. Also if you are like me and have everything connected to one singe socket, TV, PC, XBOX, WII, PS2, Monitor, Sky etc, that usually has an adverse affect on audio, try using either your TV on its own socket or speakers on its own, you will probably have to do a lot of farting around before you discover the problem. By the way, does shit stop crashing after you remove the HDMI cable?
Fuck it I only wanted my speakers plugged into my TV so I could control the volume with my remote, doesn't matter though I'll just keep it plugged into the lappy. I am not sure but ever since I got an update for my keyboard I have yet to see any programs crash? I just don't understand how a keyboard could crash programs though like ATI catalyst control centre and Winamp... I mean wut
