Alright, building a really cheap computer for my grandma cause hers recently died, I've got everything hooked up properly, I try to boot it up, no signal on the monitor. I've had this problem with previous PC builds, it almost always turns out to be the RAM, this build only has a 1 gig stick, so I make sure it's properly in the slot 'n everything, tried both ram slots, nothing, I get no beeps from the motherboard on start up, I've double and triple checked all the connections, hard drive is spinning, stuck a disk in the CD/DVD drive and it spins and tries to boot from it, I reseated the CPU, tested both the graphics card then took it out and tested the on board video, tested it on another monitor that I KNOW works, it's not the monitor, the RAM isn't bad, I popped a stick out of my computer and tested it without the new RAM I bought, still nothing, I have no fucking clue whats going on here, so I'm hoping you guys can tell me.
specs:
Mobo: ASRock A780LM
CPU:AMD Athlon II X2 240
RAM: Rendition 1 GB DDR2 240-pin
GPU: Geforce FX 5750
Did you plug the 4/8-pin cable into the motherboard?
Just checking...
yes, yes I did.
I'm having trouble understanding if you tested the graphics card or not from what you've said. Can you clarify?
take out the 5750, boot from the onboard. reseat everything
I havent tested the graphics card, but I've tried taking it out and using the onboard graphics but no luck yet.

just tried that, took everything out and reseated it, used onboard GPU, no luck, later I'm going to re seat the motherboard, make sure it's not grounded anywhere.
