Every culture has its legends and its myths. Most of us are familiar with the legend of King Arthur, the greatest king in British legends, and his queen Guinevere. Likewise, the mythology surrounding Osiris is one of the most prominent tales to come out of Egypt. Osiris is the ancient Egyptian god of the dead and the ruler of the underworld. As is true of many religions, the myths surrounding this figure are complex and varied. He was the god of immortality; he was supposed to judge the dead, only allowing the morally worth into his afterlife; he was seen as a god of regeneration and rebirth, and he held a number of other roles that varied according to the cult. But regardless of how he was seen, he was widely regarded as one of the more powerful Gods. And now, archaeologists have discovered an ancient tomb that appears to be directly modeled according to the mythical Tomb of Osiris. This find was made by a Spanish-Italian archaeological team, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities.
source: http://www.fromquarkstoquasars.com/archeologists-find-mythical-tomb-osiris-god-dead-egypt/
Pictures in article for those interested. This is a pretty big find; I wonder if there are others?

I love archaeology and especially Egyptology, but I could never bring myself to actually go into an ancient tomb. That shit's bad juju man.

Never understood the maze like tombs. Was it to confuse graverobbers and make their life as hard as possible, or some belief that it would keep the undead spirits inside?
Never understood the maze like tombs. Was it to confuse graverobbers and make their life as hard as possible, or some belief that it would keep the undead spirits inside?
First one, I believe.
First one, I believe.
Pretty tragic that it hasn't worked for a fair few of them.
IT'S THE CURSE [t]http://puu.sh/e3z9f/2757c20d5a.jpg[/t]
Almost everything I know of Osiris comes from Age of Mythology. He kicked ass in that and was certainly worthy of the "most powerful god" title.
This tomb was found a while ago more then 10 years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Hg-mLcA-GE skip to 7:35
Never understood the maze like tombs. Noble-born liches get VERY pissed if someone steals their necro swag, and ancient egyptians knew that.
Didn't they just release a Tomb Raider game about this place like a month ago? Weird coincidence.

Even if it's just a recreation, those pictures are awesome to witness
So did we just find the world's first ever bootleg or what?
I was under the impression it's indeed made by the ancient Egyptians, their idea of what the tomb of Osiris would look like. Sort of like paintings of heaven done for churches.
lazy fuckers didn't even zone it straight 3/10 would not be cursed by
