Hey, I've recently got a bit of moolah to spend as reward money from exam results. Now, I don't have a set limit of which I can spend, but I would say £200 IDEALLY, but maybe a bit of wiggle room going up to £300
Now, I already have a 5870 Radeon Graphics card, a 1TB harddrive, 500W power supply, disk drive etc.
What I am looking to upgrade is my Processor. As a result I'm most likely going to be needing a new motherboard, and my brother suggested throwing in 8gb of RAM to go with it, seeing as it was only £35.
Now, my brother is an IT Technician and built his own PC and pretty much built mine. He has suggested I get these:

He hasn't suggested a Motherboard, which I guess is the main thing I am asking about, but he also suggested getting a cooler.
Now, obviously I don't want to spend money that I could otherwise spend on something else but I would love to cut corners and I'm thinking about whether I need the cooling system. (Any left over money I have I would love to buy a new case with, and I have my eyes set on one (I have no idea how practical this would be, but it seems to have good reviews and I like the design)
Any help?
Thanks in advance!
