Okay, first off, I'm using windows 7, which has Direct X 11, and whenever I try to run EVE or Borderlands, it gives me this error. I have tried installing Direct X 9, but it gives me an error saying some file is not compatible with Windows. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?
Install DirectX 9. iunno why but it doesnt seem like 7 has 9 like vista does.
Try installing the DirectX optional components: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

Something may have happened to the files in the program that work with d3dx9_34.dll and a reinstall could do the trick. # Restore the d3dx9_34.dll file from the DirectX 9 software package. If the above troubleshooting steps haven't worked to solve your d3dx9_34.dll error, try extracting the d3dx9_34.dll individually from the DirectX 9 package. # Update the drivers for your video card. While it's not the most common solution, in some situations updating the drivers for the video card in your computer could correct this DirectX issue.
A lot of the time you can just google the file name (d3dx9_34.dll), download it, and put it in the game's main folder. This has almost always solved the problem if a game is asking for missing dll files. [editline]11:03PM[/editline] Keep in mind this is the ghetto way to get things working.

Where exactly does it say that, and I have never had any problems.
It may work, copying dlls work 50% of the time. I guess try to copy the dll into your game directory then try my method. There has been once where simply copying over a .dll has failed for me though.
Well, copied one of the files that I needed into System32... Gonna keep a Direct X folder containing all the DLLS and shit in case any more are missing, fix the problems as they pop up.

The DLL download might contain malicious code or is an outdated buggy version or something like that. Not to mention it doesn't get set up right with the system and stuff. Unless you know how to do something like that manually. They don't call it DLL hell for nothing.
