Jet Set Radio continues to be an astonishingly good looking game, over there on the last of the Segaboxes and wherever else it may have popped up over the years. It’ll be looking even better on PC soon enough, with announcement that a high definition digital download version of the game is due on XBLA, PSN and my computer this summer. Maybe it will be on your computer as well, or maybe you’re not yet convinced that its scratchy audio treats and cel shaded visuals are for you. Look at this trailer, which is still lovely today several graphical and musical trends after release. This was before all game promotional material legally required use of dubstep or that BWAARRRRR Inception noise.
Jet Set Radio launches on Windows PC digital download, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, Sega has announced.
Sega described the Dreamcast port as an "upgraded HD version". The distinctive cel-shaded adventures of Tokyo graffiti rudie Beat debuted on Dreamcast back in 2000, followed by a sequel, Jet Set Radio Future, on Xbox in 2002.
Meanwhile, Sega has announced a competition for US and UK gamers that offers fans the chance to design 18 brand new pieces of in-game art that will feature in Jet Set Radio.
Winners get a prize pack that includes a Rukus from Etón Corporation - the world's first Bluetooth sound system with solar power - and other gubbins. The official website has more.
The first screenshots of Jet Set Radio HD are below. (in the article)
Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy.
Hopefully Jet Set Radio Future comes out too, I liked JSRF much better than the original. Oh well, I'm still excited for this.
I don't think I own enough clocks.
Jet set radio was the best thing ever next to sonic adventure 1&2 for me growing up.
Please let this be true.
I never understood the fascination with this game.
I never understood the fascination with this game.
I personally a large group of the internet cheers it on just to fit in. I owned it, but didn't find it all that fun.
never played nor heard of this
Played it, loved it. Such a fun game, and the soundtrack/art style/character design was just soooo good for it's time.

I thought it was a boring gane you didn't even have to hit any button to do the tricks but my friend at school extremely favored the game and said I was gay and dumb. I told the teacher I was ill to get send home and I cried there in my bed.
Back in the day when it was a new game you'd appreciate it was the best game ever
I like it.
The style and flair and the absurdity never before shown in video games of that time. It looks pretty amazing for how old it is
Hnnng
I had this on the dreamcast years ago and I think it's still in my loft, can't wait.
Never played the original but I hope we get JSRF too at some point

HHNNNNNNGGH
It was amazing because it was like nothing anyone had really seen before, the entire style for the game was crazy but awesome.
both games had a wicked soundtrack
JSRF was my shit growing up. Never played the original Jet Set Radio but if it's anywhere near as good as its Xbox counterpart I will be delighted.

It had a good ost.
Jet Set Radio Future was so mind numbingly good I only wish I could have played this one. Maybe now I'll get my chance :v:
Can't wait to grind them 90 degree rails!
The game had something that alot of games today lack; colour.
I was looking at the developer's wiki and I almost get the feeling SEGA is putting their talents to waste. They made both the JSR and the panzer dragoon series yet SEGA has them relegated to making shitty sonic games.
more-so on topic, it be pretty fly if a modern soundtrack was included with the remake. I'd really like to hear what sort of things would back a modern jet set radio game.
This game reminds me of the times when skateboarding games used to be good
:c

it's not a skateboard game!
no it's actually a surfing game

dubstep. dubstep everywhere.
What is Jet Set Radio? Looks like some rollerblading/skating game from what I can see

I don't think you own enough boxes, here you go.

You play as a gang of rollerblading graffiti artists trying to take back Tokyo from an oppressive government while having turf wars with rival gangs and shit.
Sounds kind of wack on paper but it's fucking awesome. And the soundtrack is AMAZING.
OH GOD YES
