In 2007~2008.5 I had XBL, and accomplished quite a lot with my gamertag.
I then moved to the absolute middle of nowhere, with no way to get internet fast enough for online gaming.
There is a company that just expanded it's service area out to where I live...so I signed up immediately.
Now that I have good internet, (4mb/s down, 2mb/s up), I am going to renew my XBL subscription.
In this time, I have modded my xbox to play ...um... let's just say "backups".
I did so knowing that I would get the xbox banned from XBL if it ever connected, but figured that it was ok since by the time I could move the next console generation would be out. ...I guess not.
Now, onto the question:
If a modded xbox goes on live, and it gets banned, does the gamertag being used get banned to?
If you move the banned xbox's hard drive to another xbox, will it get banned to?
If you recover the gamertag (on a new xbox) that the banned xbox was using, does the new xbox get banned?
If I got the "new xbox" and transferred the old xbox's harddrive to it, will it get banned?
Thanks.
:)
1) Yes
2) No, only the gamertag
3) Same as 2)
4) Same as 2) and 3)
Gamertag gets banned and you gotta make a whole new account.
Just like steams VAC ban.
Thanks.
That's what I figured, but just wanted to be sure.
One last question:
If the modded xbox has connected to live with the GT in question, but has not been banned, will a new xbox get banned if that GT has been recovered on it?
(I accidentally connected to live with the old xbox, because it remembered the old wifi point.)
Define modded?
I thought it dont flag as modded if the screws are put back into the sensors.
As far as I understand the question, I think it doesn't.

Taken apart, the disk drive connected to a computer, powering on the xbox to power the drive, flashing new firmware onto to drive that dosent check if a disk is sighned by microsoft so it can play burned games.
