I have a decent PC, 4GB ram, 512mb graphics card, 720w PSU and something like a dual core 1.7 (that is, a pair of 1.7s, amounting to ~3.4)GHz CPU.
The only problem that I have is my motherboard. The thing with it is that it is older than everything else, and it doesn't have drivers for windows 7, rather for vista.
It runs well enough, but it has recently given up the ghost in terms of doing anything gaming related; it bluescreens constantly when doing something even remotely taxing, and often doesn't turn on when a GPU is seated.
Right now I'm running with no GPU and 2gb ram, and it still went earlier.
I have replaced the graphics card two times and the PSU once.
My question is this:
Could these problems be related to the motherboard? Either because of a lack of drivers or sheer age?

Does it only BSOD when doing something taxing? Or does it BSOD on random?
Also, what brand is the PSU?
Also #2; If it doesn't even turn on, it has nothing to do with drivers.
You don't need a motherboard driver. You probably have a dead gpu or the wrong drivers.

Doing something taxing just seems to increase the frequency of the BSODs, they do happen when I'm simply browsing facepunch or on youtube, but quite rarely.
The PSU is an Alpine 720W. I did get it from ebay, but it seemed like it made a positive difference for a while.
As for not turning on, it always does. My problem is that with a GPU seated, the monitor goes onto standby mode and stays there until the PC is turned off. I have, in the past been able to fix that by reseating the RAM, but the problem would reoccur after the inevitable BSOD. Besides, reseating the RAM doesn't work anymore.
I think the next step would be getting a brand new GPU, but every time I've replaced a part previosly, the problems reoccur in a different form.
The initial problem was overheating, if that helps any, though that has been fixed and hasn't been a problem for about 12 months.
Download Memtest and let it run for 24 hours.
