I'm not sure if this is common at all so I'll quickly put an example here, this has been happening a lot to me;
A few weeks ago I was in the Biology lab, everyone finished the experiment pretty quickly so we just sat down and started watching random videos on Youtube. I had a plastic stick in my hand and I was bending it, thinking how I could use them to make a tiny skyscraper model. Right after that thought, I looked at the projector screen where there was some random mitosis video becaues why the fuck not and even when knowing that I had a cool idea, I totally forgot it. I looked around to recall it and at the second I glanced at the plastic stick it, the idea came back to me.
This happens in different forms, basically I have an idea of something that I should do and I relate it to a certain item. When I even look at something else, I just lose it and the only way I can recall is through seeing that item.
Am I badly wired or some stupid shit?
Happens to everyone I guess, happens to me usually.
Insufficient RAM.

No this is common. How long is the short term memory? 30 minutes? 10? 30 seconds? Short term memory is the ability to keep check on what you are currently doing, to give a temporal aspect to your most recent actions. Not everything is put into the long term memory, and you suddenly forget things.
Don't worry, it is not alzheimers.
Speaking of memory, having actual, honest to god amnesia is frustrating as fuck. I have a 3 day gap in my memory than can never be filled, of course, I know what happened, after havng been told, but other than that, and its not a case of simply a memory fading, it's a complete absoloute blank. I had an accident where I got hit by something pretty solid in the face, and it wasn't like I was unconcious for 3 days, or can't remember that specific day, the last I remembered after I had my accident, was 3 days prior to it. I wasn't unconcious either, albeit i was drifting in and out of conciousness, but often alert and awake.
Pretty sure that injury is also responsible for my often scattershot memories.
I can describe the extended syntax of the Silicon Graphics 4D PROM environment and describe the advantages of Linear Induction Motors over conventional conventional motors and weight based wheel traction.....yet I cannot surpass the math or english skills of a grade 10 student.
Literally, you can lock me in a room with math assignments and I'll never retain it for more than an hour.

This kind of shit is why I don't subscribe to a quantifiable single metric for intelligence

Need to download more. Also delete system32 and you'll be running at around 12mph
Completely normal OP.
this is not normal. you have a disorder called hypochondria.
I often times open google in a new tab to google something I don't know, and then get distracted. Ten minutes later, I'll stare at that google tab for a very long time, trying to remember what I was supposed to look up.
Happens a lot man. Don't worry about it :).
I think of something while playing a LoL match and go like "Right after this kill I'll look for it..." and then when I try looking for it, I can't remember what was it.
electronic dementia?
that's completely wrong you shouldn't be experiencing any symptoms or any non-complacency with your situation, please take these pills until all issues stop
sometimes my friend loses her train of thought in the middle of a story and we have to go back and "repeat" the previous conversation so that she can recall what she was going to say. so i would say it's totally normal.
Further proof that we are actually Sims.

unless you have a diagnosed learning disability, i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you probably never had to study for exams in middle/early high school so once class material started getting challenging for you you had no idea how to study properly.

If I'm not mistaken, I think at one point MIPS (same person) said he has Autism. Not 100% though. He has claimed that he has an immense knowledge of computers up until the 90s (which is true). And that's where it stops.
Something like that happens to me when im high, I forget stuff, the I remember what I forgot, then I remember
You should feel lucky I cant even do simple tasks. example:
efecanefe go to boss office and bring me this and this...
10 seconds later
oh wait I forget what to do....
And it happens too much...:suicide:
To remember things you just forgot, you need to recreate the scenario you were in, mentally and maybe physically, to put yourself back in that mindset. A sort of mental time travel

Happens to me with builds, I forget what I was buying next and I sit at base for like 30 seconds browsing
I have dyspraxia, meaning my brain's a liiiittle bit slower. it also means I can hardly remember things in a list and my short-term memory is terrible. It happens too often when someone tells something to me and a second or two later I completely forget what they've said.
Ok
Walking into a room then looking around wondering wtf you were doing in that room.
sometimes i have lapses in memory, i'm very absent minded
once i went into my kitchen to get a bowl of ice cream, so i took the ice cream out of the freezer and put some in a bowl. when i went to put the ice cream container back, i was on my phone, and am apparently not very good at multitasking, so i absentmindedly put the ice cream container in the microwave. as i was about to leave the room with my bowl of ice cream it occurred to me what i did, so i set the bowl of ice cream back down on the counter and took the container out of the microwave and put it in the freezer, then left the room.
it was an hour or two later when i went back into the kitchen to notice a bowl of melted ice cream on the counter, remembering what had happened, and realizing i never even ate the ice cream, i just left.
so yeah, really absent minded
Similar thing happened to me when there were some peas in the fridge and I wanted something to eat. So I basically took out the pot containing the dish and put some on the plate. Obviously, out of the fridge, it was cold so I went on and put the plate in the microwave. Right before starting it my sister calls me to show me cat pictures.
When I come back I realize that I put the fucking pot in the microwave, not the plate
