Well I got a new badass vid card and wanted to play some GTA 4, but it needs SP3, I ahve sp2 and my games run fine, will I run into any issues with any of my games?
No, get SP3.

Your avatar is telling me otherwise.
Yeah, SP3 is pretty safe by now. I wouldn't worry about it causing you any problems.
It'll most likely make your computer a little faster too. Why wouldn't you want an update?

I don't know, I always went by what my dad said. "If your comp runs fine then don't screw with it. Trust me, I learned the hard way." :v:

Nah, if I wanted my avatar to tell otherwise I would have made it more obvious.

He speaks some wisdom, but how do you expect to learn that way? And how do you expect to improve, if you refuse to change, for the better. Just upgrade to sp3.
The only problem SP3 had is fixed by an update applied automatically before it.

Do you want the legacy to continue, as you are telling to your children:
"If your comp runs fine, you can always do better. Trust me, I learned the hard way by listening to my dad- FUCK"

For fucking SP3? Your dad should look at this thread. Updates from Microsoft aren't "screwing around".

Get it , you need it .its good for you.
I remember SP3 once borked my windows installation because of some intel power saving thing trying to work on my amd cpu. I'm sure it will have been fixed by now though.
Don't update for the sake of updating; if you're not suffering from any sort of problem or bug then there's no point updating. In my experiance just updating windows for no reason can result in additional problems.

Leave him alone . I know the OAU(Organization against updating) people sent you.
you dont want the world to be advanced.but for him, the individual buyer its good!
to the thread opener - update .DO IT.
SP3 is fine! I have used it for years myself without any issues. It contains a lot of important updates to keep your computer safe, not only can you play GTA 4. You also protect your computer and protect other computers because if one PC gets infected then more PC's get infected. Always Windows Update!
