Prometheans, fucking really ?
Can't you come up with ANYTHING that isn't a generic name
I 'unno if it's just me, but for all they try to make it seem like their design process has hooked onto new things, when it comes down it to a lot of elements seem rather cliche.
Man, those animations are amazing.
You know Halo is going to look weird when you find an alien even more ALIEN than the covenants. I mean these guys are way too alien for me. They looked like they belong in Crysis
imo some of the forerunner weps looked recycled from the covenant ones in Halo 2 and 3.
I mean even that pistol looking one does the charge shit the plasma pistol does.

With first hand experience with the game, I can tell you that regardless of your opinion, that is incorrect. Every weapon model in the game is high res, where Halo 2 and 3 is not. There are no reused assets in Halo 4 when it comes to weapons, textures, props, and sounds. Not to mention all the weapons are different variants of such weapons in the game. You expect the plasma pistol not to have an overcharge shot?

I don't think he meant their assets Delta. He was talking about their functions. But he is still wrong either way.

Generic? How about do research before complaining.
The name "Promethean" was inspired by the Titan Prometheus in Greek mythology, who gave the gift of fire to mankind. The Promethean knights defend forerunners with the gift of fire, in a poetic sense

The Charged fire shoots a spread, it isn't a big blast that knocks down shields.
Did you watch/listen to the video? They describe how the weapons work in it.

The covenant don't innovate, they copy. Almost all of the technology they have, they based it off old forerunner designs. It only makes sense if a few forerunner weapons look similar.

Lore aside, I too worry about the similarities too purely in a gameplay sense. What's the point of adding new weapons if they're functionally just minor variations on the same weapons? I really hope that's not the case and that there's someone in here who has tried it out and can prove me wrong.

I don't see what you mean. The new weapons are pretty different from their older counterparts.
Bending space and time? Bend the fucking space and time between chief's ears; see how long this series really lives for, I swear some aspects become too much.

Honestly, I don't see how the scattershot is all that different from the shotgun.
And the Light Rifle is just a BR and DMR crammed into one.
I thought it meant those ancient guys from Mass Effect.
Otherwise it sounds like that Ridley Scott movie too

Logically speaking, in your example; was it not the forerunners who gave such technology, or your fire, to the Prometheans? I simply see these Prometheans as asshole forerunners, rebels of the cause.
Honestly, I don't see how the scattershot is all that different from the shotgun.

But they become obsessed with your arm and glow with pretty colors.
(As a Halo fan, this game has not personally cut it.)

Forerunners have super accurate slipspace drives, so I assume thats how they're "bending time and space". Using a slipspace drive to warp into another object isn't exactly a good idea.

They're guns, how different can they be to the point where they're not overpowered?
...super accurate slipspace drives... to warp into another object isn't exactly a good idea.
What is not a good idea is having a brain that can 'slip' out of your skull if such a drive remains accurate.
What is not a good idea is having a brain that can 'slip' out of your skull if such a drive remains accurate.
huh?
What is not a good idea is having a brain that can 'slip' out of your skull if such a drive remains accurate.
How are they going to attach the device to his brain? they can move through slip space because they have a device that allows them to do that, but they can't make other objects do it unless they attach the device to it.
Honestly, I don't see how the scattershot is all that different from the shotgun.
It seems less accurate and you can bounce the rounds.

Let's just say Prometheans are scary and hard as fuck! Got to fight them at San Diego Comic-Con and their a bit of a challenge. I'm glad they are in the game.
I don't see what you mean. The new weapons are pretty different from their older counterparts.
They all fit into the old archetypes though. Shotgun, Pistol/Plasma Pistol, DMR, Rocket Launcher, etc. They don't noticeably seem to offer much new other than slight variations on the tried and true ensemble of Halo weaponry. If you want stuff that truly deviates, look at games from devs like Insomniac and see what I mean.
It looks fun and I'm interested in the story so i'll be getting this, I'm not an Xbox gamer but even I still enjoy playing halo 3 and the HD remake every so often.

what is this supposed to mean
what is this supposed to mean
An example of exaggeration; these enemies are powerful enough to bend time and space, to me that is a one-hitter against Master Chief, or anyone.
I am simply frustrated towards 343.

Why? Because you took their joke out of context, and too seriously?

I don't see why it should deviate at all. Those weapons are tried and true in the Halo. I think the way they went about adding new weapons was perfect, its still the same formula but with a new twist.

please go look up what a slipspace drive is in the Halo universe. you can't just warp inside of somoenes head and take their brain out like you want them too, it doesn't work like that.
"Prometheans aren't monsters" This coming right after they showed one yelling at you with a with a glowing skull.
