• Cheap but good CPUs?

I've got an old Intel Core Duo E8400, and I'm thinking that its pretty outdated. It's served me pretty well so far but I'm looking to upgrade regardless. I'm all set on basically everything other than a CPU. So I'm thinking maybe a budget of $100-200 AU? The cheaper the better but I still don't want a piece of crap. So, any possible choices?
What are the rest of your specs? Also note that any upgrade will also require a new MOBO. If you are really that low budget get an i3 2100 and compatible motherboard. (Asrock z77 Extreme or something)

The z77 is more of a motherboard for an i5 3570K build, it was more of an example of a good mobo.
You're going to want to save up a little more than $300 for an upgrade path. Ideally you want to get an i3-3220+z77 mobo+2x4GB memory, but at $200 you may as well keep your E8400 for now.
