I like that but I'd prefer them to tone down the swearing. They didn't swear in 80's videogames either and it feels really out of place in Blood Dragon.
I'm up for that if it turned into it's own game and not based on far cry.

Personally, while I do like that Blood Dragon is short enough to not ever really feel like it's dragging on (A pretty big problem I had with FC3, tbh), and that there's a risk of them falling into the SR3 trap of trying-too-hard with a sequel, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a follow-up game get made.
It'd be cool to see more games LIKE Blood Dragon, I don't mind if a sequel is possible but they better not make this into another Assassin's Creed.
I would love a full sized game with a skill tree and stuff
They need to. In fact, I wouldn't mind if the rest of the Far Cry series became this. It'd be a considerable improvement.

"Here's a shooter that does something fun without being anything like the last one".
Either make it a spinoff series of Far Cry 3 or make it it's own series that the FC3 dudes develop. Blood dragon was fucking awesome. A more like fleshed out and deeper version of it would be ludicrously bad fuckin ass.
the thing though is that while BloodyDragon is probably the best game ive played this year, it wouldnt work in longer doses so to speak the comedy, niche entertainment would get stale after a while, they would have to work really hard to make a really good, long version of bloodydragon
They didnt have 3D graphics in 80's videogames either
BattleZone came out in 1980 and had 3D graphics, although it had no textures.

I think Saints Row the Third suffers the same problem - the game tried being all crazy and whacky to make its own identity, but pretty much all the jokes and gimmicks were only funny the first couple times and then it got old. Focus less on trying to out-crazy the predecessor, and more on fixing what went wrong while adding things that compliment and supplement what's already there like a true sequel should or so forth. :v:

Know what Terminator and Commando have in common? Arnold Schwarzenegger saying "Fuck you, asshole."
I gotta give them respect for not whining that it was pirated so much.
"The game's pretty stupid and that's fine, because we're in the video games business and it's okay to be stupid sometimes. We don't have to be super-realistic all the time," Evans said.
I wish more game dev people had this attitude.
I wish more game dev people had this attitude.
I don't think they're all that different - but they have to make a product that will sell. So there are only certain ideas that big teams are willing to do, it's not that game devs don't want to be creative.
I gotta give them respect for not whining that it was pirated so much.
It's nothing but good press for them, they've got nothing to lose other than not being as prepared for feedback as they probably wanted.
