Looking for a program to capture fps

I'm as confused as you are, I'm looking for an fps counter not a benchmarker, I didn't quite understand the difference between the two of them, sorry.

Let's get this straight. Are you looking for at program how many FPS you have in different kind of applications? If yes, should it be realtime (Like Fraps) or so it makes a log over the FPS?

use rivatuners on-screen statistic server, i use it. lets you know your FPS.. how hot your GPU and CPU are getting in game. really helpful.

Actually, that causes BSODS on some newer cards. Correct me if I'm wrong...

I have an ati card, so I'll try that. I just spent ten minutes configuring rivatuners just to find out I've done it wrong.

edit: says i'm missing a low-level driver that windows wouldn't install, because it wasn't digitally signed.
