No Release Date Planned for the US Yet. Is also planned to release in France and Germany. This is kinda a Prequel to the Professor layton games out now in the West. Basically Prof Layton and Luke go to this Opera and it turns out to be some screwed up puzzle game where people's lives are at stake. I just finished Watching it just now, and it's pretty awesome. Worth a watch if your a fan of the series. For the UK People, here's a link to the DVD/Blu-Ray Boxset for the movie on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professor-Layton-Eternal-Blu-ray-Collectors/dp/B003VADNWS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1280064797&sr=1-3?link_code=ur2&tag=videogamesblo-20 UK Blu-Ray Version: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professor-Layton-Eternal-Diva-Blu-ray/dp/B003PHT5WO/ref=pd_cp_d_h__1

Never played the games, but this looks great!
Fuck yeah a Professor Layton movie!
Awesome.
So, is there any way to watch Region 2 DVDs in, say, a computer or something? I really want to see this. Legally.
Your computer can play DVD's from any region...
Your computer can play DVD's from any region...
I figured. I suppose I'll buy the DVD one of these days then.
Do All Blu-rays work on a PC Blu-ray drive? if so i might order the box set from europe
Your computer can play DVD's from any region...
Not quite. You can change the region of your DVD drive, but only a limited amount of times. It may be possible to hack it, or software that bypasses it, but that's getting in a bit in "warez" territory.
Found a cool gif from the movie :buddy: Bit spolieriffic so im gunna keep it as a link http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/4153/professorlaytonvsdescot.gif
Is the one on AmazonUK translated into English or just subtitled? Because if it's translated I might get it
I like the Layton games but I don't like this movie. First of all, the beginning is very confusing, I didn't know whether I am watching a past scene or not but that was probably due to the horrible translation into German. Next was Luke. In this movie, he behaved like a retard. That was also enhanced by the extremely stupid sounding voice they gave him for the German version. He didn't contribute ANYTHING to the story and plot, in fact, the movie could happen all around without him and that's a sign for bad writing. The riddles were a joke, when they began with 001, 002 I expected to see the numbers throughout the movie, maybe cleverly displayed or as a scene of Luke writing in his journal or whatever, but they stopped the numbering right after they made sure to suggest the message of "Hey look viewers, we got that feature from the games". Wow. Cheap. And the end was a fucking joke, you can clearly see the Pokemon-movie guys did work on this. It's all action, action, Luke doing stupid stunts, not even showing the end of them because no scene could explain how something that stupid could work out. Instead they just blend to a different scene and show Luke and the Diva sitting safely 3 or 4 scenes later. Cheap. Not what I expected from Layton. I expected something clever.

Apparently though some new RPC2 drives are usually region protected. Postman, download the Nero InfoTool from here and it will tell you what your drive is and what your region code is set to: http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero8-tools-utilities.html Mine is RPC2 but no region lock lucky me :D

[sp]He accidentally tricked people into believing the boat wasn't the crown thus limiting the amount of people getting onto the lifeboats[/sp] and yea the guys who did the pokemon movies made this movie.
They need to hurry up and release this in the US. Also I just noticed your avatar Panty and Stocking aw yeahhh

[sp] It was the guy with the curly black hair who tricked them, he even knew it was wrong.[/sp] Once again, Luke just served as the catch-phrase giving side-kick. and yea the guys who did the pokemon movies made this movie.
I have the ds games they're awesome, looking forward to watching this

I'm probably going to get this when I get around to buying the latest game.
This is aired in Germany on freetv on November 20th, if anyone cares.
I'm probably going to get this when I get around to buying the latest game.
Update; I now have the DVD. Plan to watch it tomorrow. EDIT: Just watched it. Liked most of it up until the end when it went way over the top. I wanted to tell them to [sp]attack the weak point, for massive damage[/sp]. That and a lot of the lines became very, very cliché.
And the end was a fucking joke, you can clearly see the Pokemon-movie guys did work on this. It captured the feel of the games quite well I thought, the action in the games wasn't all that better, I'm not sure how they'd have adapted it to be like a film and not made it so over the top.
