• Stacker: My theory

Hello, i have recently been looking into the game "Stacker" and i have been told quite a bit that it can control whether or not you win or lose. I have seen videos proving that it is NOT rigged, however i do have a theory that may work with both sides of the stacker argument. Many people say its rigged, others say it isn't. I think its both. My theory is that the machine doesn't actually "Make" you lose by moving the block, rather the difficulty slider which changes it from chances in like, 1 in 20 to 1 in 600, is based on theoretical probability. Meaning that, 1 in every 600 people can beat this freaking thing, based on the difficulty it is set at. Which means that it CAN be beat no matter what time you play. It may be, in fact, a game of skill, but has a difficulty slider that makes it harder to win based on the prizes inside. The owner can be a jerk and set it to like, 1 in 1600, but at that point there better be a freaking Mattress inside. Or something similar. So, does anybody else think this is true? Give your opinion, and please don't be a jerk.
It's not a game of skill.
It's not a game of skill.
Great! And what do you have to back that up? ...... Oh yeah, you don't Look if your gonna post, you MIGHT want to have a REASON you think its not a game of skill. Just because alot of people say it isn't, doesn't mean its true. Internetz gossipz
Basically it's either set to make it so you cannot win; or give you the chance of winning but requiring you to finish the game.
Until we have proof by analyzing the software that runs on these machines, we can't say it's not rigged
Until we have proof by analyzing the software that runs on these machines, we can't say it's not rigged
We cannot say it's rigged either :smug:
Until we have proof by analyzing the software that runs on these machines, we can't say it's not rigged
THANK YOU! Atleast somebody gets it. There are lawsuits, I wish there was a way to look into this. Hmmm..... IDEA! Somebody get someone who owns one! Set up a camera and... Oh wait, its illegal to video tape people and put it on youtube without permission. Fuck Well, try something.
Has anyone ever worked at a store with one of these? How do you change the difficulty slider/win or lose settings? I'd like to know. These things have taken too much of my money for too long!
I remember watching a recording of myself and my friend playing these. I went frame by frame, and saw that at the last level, the block would stop moving for two frame intervals, except on the winning location, then it would be there for only one frame. It might have just been the recording, though. I hope this made sense.
so what Athilas is saying is that the motion of the block is different at the last stack, so people who are used to the last 6 rows always screw up at the last one. though i think it's rigged, why would they bother updating the gadgets (ps3's Ipods) for the major prize if they were real? unless they are empty boxes?

Its based on THEORETICAL probability. So it is damn near impossible to win. Its just not FULLY rigged.
What is stacker, anyway?

sounds fun.

For example, pretend this was the places where you can fail and succeed on the last level of the stacker game. O is the winning location, X's you fail: XXXOXXX In the recording I saw, frame by frame, whenever the block was on an X, it stayed there for 2 frames, but when it was on the O, it was only there for one frame.

Tinypic?
My friend won two 360's off one at the mall here. That's all I know about them.
Tinypic?
It was a picture of a guy that he pressed the button and it stopped exactly at the top so he would win, but then it moved, and he gets pissed.
I won a Nintendo DS lite on it a few months ago so I don't care.
A sort of good investment idea would be to buy a stacker machine for your home. Depending on how much they cost. Then the next step is practice, and practice and practice and practice. Once you get good enough at the machine and work out how they work (You tube "How to beat stacker" I watched a movie a while ago some guy worked out the mechanism and when to play to have the best chance of winning). Then go to any shopping mall and find the best stacker game. After winning a few PS3's and Wii's you'll have made your money back. Now you have the skill to win a console or iPod whenever you want for around $20 (No you will not gain the ability to win on your first try...Like I said youtube it)

Just a guess, though.
It's not a game of skill.
You still have to make the blocks get to the top. It's just the last one that is random.
It is definitely rigged, I can attest to that. I played it once, and made it one block away from winning a PSP or some shit. The very top box was moving back and forth faster than Speedy Gonzales on cocaine, but I timed it just right so that it would stop in the right spot. It hung there for a half-second and moved to the right one square. Then I kicked the machine and got thrown out. The end.
60 dollars that damn machine stole from me
You are good poster, please make more posts.
I've actually beaten one of these for myself. And play it everytime I see one. From various videos and sources it seems it's sorta rigged. Most people naturally try to line the blocks up in the middle. When it gets to the very top, it stays in the middle block for half as long as the other ones, so if you've been lining it up in the very middle its near impossible to beat. I myself usually line it up in the middle, until recently, now I remember not to. But everytime I've ever seen someone else play, they do line it up in the middle. The only way to win to to play on the sides. But either way, it takes skill to get to the top row anyways, and once your there it takes skill to get that last block. It doesn't just land on a random spot when you hit the button, you have to time it. So yes, it does take skill.
How about you get someone to play it and record it in slow motion.
I've been to the very last square so many times.
