In a Netflix blog post titled “Internet Tolls And The Case For Strong Net Neutrality,” Hastings writes candidly (at least as candidly as the CEO of a huge company can be) about his true feelings regarding Comcast and the deal his company made to ensure that Comcast Internet subscribers could actually have access to Netflix.
“A few weeks ago, we agreed to pay Comcast and our members are now getting a good experience again,” says Hastings. “Comcast has been an industry leader in supporting weak net neutrality, and we hope they’ll support strong net neutrality as well.”
Though Hastings also mentioned other companies — most notably Verizon, whose lawsuit resulted in the recent gutting of the Open Internet rules that had prevented ISPs from throttling or blocking access to websites and services — Comcast’s David Cohen, Exec. VP of Shoving Mergers Down Consumers’ Throats, actually released the following laughable statement to Consumerist and other outlets:
“There has been no company that has had a stronger commitment to openness of the Internet than Comcast. We supported the FCC’s Open Internet rules because they struck the appropriate balance between consumer protection and reasonable network management rights for ISPs. We are now the only ISP in the country that is bound by them.”
Man if Google Fiber were in Chicago, me and me family would just dump out Comcast already.

Same, although we would need it where we live, only option is att.
Shit, I was smelling something really bad, and it turns out to be this. The biggest bullshit lie that comcast has ever told.
i thought comcast was among the first to start throttling certain traffic and trying to extort fees once the net neutrality rules broke down. weren't they also among the first to start introducing bandwidth caps and shit before then?

No, that was some other company. Comcast was the company that loves its valued customers, net neutrality, and giving us 100 Mbps for 160 dollars, or for 10 dollars less, 100 Mbps with their tv and phone.
So yes, they are not that evil, at best, they need those data caps to cut off or throttle traffic. Those are the other companies. They are worse than Germany and Russia.
Now, let Comcast screw their customers over by making a 50 dollar 1 Mbps internet that has 100 GB data cap, and see how many of their subscribers jump ship if they can. Wish they can actually learn not to say bullshit statements and actually improve their services, oh wait, that cost money.
Its true, they supported the FCC's net neutrality rules*
* they only supported the net neutrality rules because the FCC wouldn't let them buy up Viacom without stipulating that they are bound the the 2010 rules for 10 years even if the rules are overturned

And EA won the Customer Satisfaction Awards the last two years in a row, right.
So they admitted that Netflix has to pay them more money in order to provide a service worth a damn.
And then they turn around and say "We LOVE Net Neutrality! :D"
I can't even laugh ironically, this is THAT dumb.
Maybe they mean net neutrality in the sense of the internet service not doing anything, whilst you still have to pay for it

I think they mean that as long as they're still getting lods of emone they're indifferent to anyone's opinion.

To be fair, a very big part of the entire world's internet had direct or indirect business with EA (bought their games).
Most people, me included, never had the honor to deal with Comcast so it's not as easy to give them the vote.
Negative popularity contest is still a popularity contest which makes it stupid.
God damn, Comcast customer support sucks ass cheese.
In fact, pretty much all of Comcast sucks hairy ass cheese..
I suspect Suddenlink is getting that way, too. I've noticed since Net Neutrality was shot down, Youtube stutters where it didn't before.
American ISPs are the devil.

This really has nothing to do with net neutrality. Netflix is considered a Tier 2 network while a large ISP like Comcast is a tier 1. Usually Tier 1 to Tier 1 interconnects are "free" (both companies pay some agreed portion of setting up the infrastructure), while Tier 2 usually pay Tier 1 providers to connect directly to them. Direct connections again are not a net neutrality issue, they are simply a means for providers to avoid potential bandwidth issues at the global exchange points that connect all theses providers together.

What's odd is I just switched to some comcast package (I forget which) and I'm getting 60MBPS download 10MBPS upload and 23 ping consistently.
I've never had a problem with Comcast where I currently live, interestingly enough.
I use Comcast at my dorm, and I'm fairly certain the only reason it works well is because they need the college students' business, and that overrides their desire to fuck everyone over.
"More dedicated to net neutrality" eh' more like neutralizing our wallets.

Its expensive I admit but I use to have qwest which use to be unstable and throttled to hell and back all day long. Then it would go out randomly once or twice a day and on a few occasions for days on end without warning which wasn't fun when I needed to get school work done.
So yeah a constant 1-2 megabytes per second is like a living dream compared to the shitty unstable 50-100 kps I use to get.

thats not ironic, its just coincidental
Comcast is trying to buy up Time(2fuckyou)Warner so they want to prop up their image, also unfortunatly the head of the FCC is a former Comcast Executive, though he does seem to take net neutrality very seriously.
also unfortunatly the head of the FCC is a former Comcast Executive,
this shit right here should be fucking illegal

We get good speed, but they gave us some shitty Xfinity router-turd that only supports a whopping total of four fucking wireless connections. We have 2 wireless computers, 2 laptops, a iPod, 4 phones, and a tablet.
This wouldn't be much of an issue if we didn't pay almost 300 dollars a month.
Comcast is a scumbag fucking company and I hope that they go under. They are robbing the American people.
Russia says "No one is more dedicated to Ukrainian sovereignty" than it is.
i have never had a problem with them, in my area att is the awful one.
"We're ALL for net neutrality, but we believe that some nets are more neutral than others."

You aren't required to use their equipment. I sure as shit don't. Sounds like this is your fault.
