WDBJ7 TV reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were killed during an interview in Moneta, Bedford County, the TV station said.
During the live broadcast, shots could be heard, sending the reporter and the person she was interviewing running.
Hopefully they find the people responsible and shove them in a cage for the rest of their lives.
Wtf this is the kind of thing you'd expect to hear from the Middle East not fucking Virginia. Get your shit together America

I know, VA is a really safe state. Especially Roanoke.
So fucked. Why?

If only the journalists had guns themselves this wouldn't have happened!

Don't start that.

That's a big hook you got there.
Get your shit together America
This is an absolutely bizarre case, especially coming from Moneta, which is a surprisingly safe city. Compared to the rest of Virginia, it's a safe haven. According to some sites, it has a noticeably low violent crime rate.
That sounds motiveless. Why kill journalists just interviewing someone? That's so fucked up
Don't start that.
Fair hint of sarcasm, considering some peoples answer to gun crime in the US is more guns in the hands of other people who might help. I dunno if my British perspective leaves me unable to understand the situation in the US properly though. Seems the US posters unanimously agree guns are Holy so there must be some aspect of it all I don't understand.
My first thought is that the guy reacted to the camera in a "don't spy on me" kinda nutty way.

The gun violence problem in America is not caused by guns, nor will it be solved by a ban on guns. This has been very well demonstrated. These killings didn't occur because the shooter had a gun, it occurred because he's a nutcase and the mental health situation in the US is fucking dreadful. I'm not even going to get into this discussion with you, though - this is my first and last post in this thread.

so absolutely fucked up and disturbing, you can actually see the shooter at 14 seconds in the video like three feet away from where the camera man was. And with the whole topic they were talking about, creating a better community and increase tourism. All I ask is, why?
edit: For those who don't want to watch the clip but want to see what was last taken of the shooter, here's a picture

We have this argument in every single thread about shootings, and we never agree on it.
We will not come to an agreement about that in this thread either, so let's just not argue about it today.
The video is fucked up. I don't suggest watching it.
Edit: The person they are interviewing is apparently unharmed according to CNN.

It does. End the gun debate, this isn't the right place for it.

As someone who lived in Britain for 19 years and moved to America 5 years ago I feel like I can help.
When I first came to America I swore that no one needed a gun no matter the case, guns were alien to me, I didn't understand them aside from it's a easier way to kill.
I joined the army and my knowledge of firearms grew tenfold, it dawned on me that in America their is no way to stop criminals having firearms, their to easy to smuggle in and theirs too many in existence to get rid of them 100%.
The easiest method of protection is to have your own firearm, since this I now carry my glock 19 with me religiously. I don't expect to be attacked every time I leave the house but it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Holy shit, the face of the woman when they switch back to the news centre
It does. End the gun debate, this isn't the right place for it.
So a news article about gun violence isn't a place to debate guns, their use and ability to be obtained by pretty much everyone ? Wow, aren't you thick.
Video unfortunately doesn't show his face clearly at all, although this is a shopping centre so he may have been caught on CCTV.

You know, one thing is saying you don't want a debate, but it's something else when in the same comment you also insert an argument.
Kind of hypocritical.

This is why we need Mass Debate back.

Well that makes sense, and I would argue that the current system makes it far too easy for anybody to get a gun, but then again if they can be smuggled very easily and people have to deal with the anxiety of being shot at, then who can argue.
Holy fuck... I wish I didn't watch that..

Not "anybody." They do mental health checks (aka have you been in a crazy house before) and criminal background checks.

Watch out guys! It's the grammar police!
Seriously, he makes a very good point and this is all you can pick to call out? You know he's right I guess.
The camera man was engaged to the morning producer of the station and it was their last day on the job before going to a new one (And watched her Fiance get murdered basically). The woman they were interviewing was hit and is/was in surgery. The camera man and the female reporter were killed
Good news though. The man's face is very clearly seen in one still so he will probably be ID'd, and he's bought and paid for as far as the police are concerned. If a suspect left at large is a danger to the public, then you're justified in using lethal force to prevent them from getting away. So good riddance to that animal
Obviously works too, huh? Thank god it's not like people can get guns from other places than gunstores :)
Like stealing them? Yup.

Oh my, a post that has absolutely nothing to do with grammar is definitely invalidated by mixing up there and they're. Oh wait, no it isn't.
