Anyone on here familiar with the series Kinnikuman, I am really into it.

If you do not know much about the series, I'll give you information
Kinnikuman was a late 70's to Mid 80's manga series that was created by Yudetamago originally as a parody of Ultraman. The anime series was released in 1983 and ran for 137 episodes all the way until 1986 when the series ended, also made at the time were 7 movies. But it came back in 1991 with the 46 episode "Scramble for the Throne" series, which all revolves around an epic survival tournament between Kinnikuman and 5 contending brothers to determine which of 6 princes becomes king of his home planet. There were also some Spanish Dubs released later on that cover the main series.
Along the way there were several spinoffs, there was a small Manga in 1981 that showed Kinnikuman's early childhood, another small manga called Robin's Notes, and in 1988 Yudetamago made Tatake!! Ramenman, a manga and anime series that depicted Ramenman's childhood and adventures prior to the Kinnikuman series. There’s an upcoming prequel about Kinnikuman's father Mayumi and a recent reboot manga.
There is also a well known spoof of Kinnikuman made during the 29th anniversary called Kinnikuman Lady.

It’s basically the G1 story as if all the characters (Except Meat) change genders, it’s actually more unsuitable for minors than the original series as there is more language aside from all the boobies
and revealing costumes that are obviously due to the lady choujins.

A majority of the Legends and New Gen. Characters in Kinnikuman Nisei
In the late 90's - early 2000's, Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle in english speaking countries) was launched, this new series brought along a whole new generation of characters such as Mantaro Kinnikuman (Kid Muscle) and Terry the Kid (Terry Kenyon) who are sons of old legends, as well as new characters that aren't related to legends like Illhoukine (Comrade Turbinski) and PuriPuriman (Monsieur Cheeks).
G1 story
Early parts of the series was parodizing Ultraman, as this is clearly shown as the main character, Suguru Kinnikuman, bears many properties to ultraman (Super strength , crest/fin on the top of the head, ability to become giant, flying, various different beam attacks, and both were usually fighting Kaijuu/Monsters when they appear.)

Kinikuman was different however due to the fact he wasn't very respected at the start of the series, and also had to eat garlic to become giant and take on opponents without getting his ass kicked (his weakness was Milk or Leeks, it varied in the anime and manga).
He was born on Planet Kinniku and grew up in japan after an accident involving a pig. Meat-kun who is a member of the Kinnikuman clan ends up finding him and tells Suguru the truth about his birthplace. After several episodes of Kaiju fighting, Kinnikuman eventually gets applied for the choujin Olympics and eventually by that point, the real action begins and we are greeted to the some of the major heroes that will be significant later on.

Robin Mask vs Canadianman in the Choujin Olympics tournament
After winning the championship, Kinnikuman goes on a world title defense tour and lost the title in Brazil (Arizona in the manga) due to an unanimous decision in his rematch against Robin Mask, even though Robin Mask is claimed dead from the disaster that sent him falling down the ravine/canyon. Eventually in Kinnikuman's second choujin olympics, more significant characters such as Brocken Jr. & Warsman appear.
Merchandise
As for merchandise, the most memorable toy spawned by the series was Kinkeshi (Muscle Erasers), rubber figurines that came in several different colors and sizes. In japan, there were Hundreds of unique figures to collect. This actually was brought to America by Bandai and Mattel simply coined M.U.S.C.L.E, there were not as many figures, but there were more colors later on (Kinkeshi - 5 colors, Muscle - 9 colors.) A lot of rare merchandise commemorated Kinnikuman's 29th Anniversary in 2008.

Even to this day Kinnikuman is a popular name in Japan, and it's commonplace to see characters from the series in Japanese advertising.

I put a large sum of my knowledge with some research into the first post to give everyone an idea of it.

I remember watching X-play and Adam would always make jokes about that,
DIK DIK! DIK DIK!
I remember watching it on Foxbox when it was on, but unfortunately only a few episodes ever made it on DVD :(.
Dear god I can just imagine getting drunk and playing that game with friends.
I could imagine fighting breaking out over who gets to play DIK DIK VAN DIK
Hey Dik Dik Van Dik was one of the best characters in the video game. Him and Ninja Ned were my favorites.
Manliest series of my childhood

A game I'm getting is Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix 2 - Tokumori, a Fighting game that's like tekken, but has various wrestling mechanics into it.Unfortunatly it's Japan only, that's where Swapmagic comes in handy.
i remember this cartoon, it was strange at best
not as weird as the pokemon ripoff with food though
Reminds me of He-Man for some reason.....

I haven't got into Ultimate Muscle as a kid, I mostly watched Yu-Gi-Oh on Fox Box, I got the Gamecube game about a year ago and got curious about the orgin of the series, and that's when I really went into kinnikuman.
It's unfortunate that only a couple spanish dubs of the original series went ouside japan. There are English dubs being indepently made by people online. The dubs is basically what they should be, a direct translation with no bullshit like renaming characters ( 4kids renamed Gazelleman to Dik Dik Van Dik in there dubs, that's pretty cool knowing how badly they screwed up with a suggestive rename.)
As for my favorite character of the series, it's none other than Ramenman. He is exceptionally skilled in kung fu, Ramenman is also capable of turing people into ramen noodles (only happened nearly twice in the anime series)

Kevin Mask would woop his ass any day
Didn't these guys also do Bo-bo-bo?
Haha I remember that show

This show was great. I used to watch this all the time next to Dragon Ball Z.
Kevin Mask would woop his ass any day
I'm not sure if you really know this, but Ramenman's a G1 legend who won several champnships during his prime.
Kevin mask could beat him as of the Nisei series when all G1 legends have aged massivley.
But on even ground Ramenman being 30 and Kevin being 20
(Think of it as of how the Legends compare to the New Gen. in Galactic Wrestling),
Kevin would not win that many matches against him.
Didn't these guys also do Bo-bo-bo?
Not really, Yudetamago didn't make the series.
Only companies that were involved with kinnikuman that are involved in this were Shuheisha who publishes the manga and Toei Animation that creates the anime.
Although the Japanese version of the series does make Kinnikuman References
Fine what about this motherfucker

I watched this when i grew up, I always wondered what the weird thing on his head was. I thought it was some mohawk sword he would use to chop shit up. And it made me like beef rice a lot more :3
and the Chinese translation was rather "meh"
If youre wondering what's with the fins, that's the mark of one who is from Planet Kinniku (Muscle Planet) It's seen mostly on Kinnikuman family members, but other tribes of the planet sport them too.
the masks are mostly worn by the men of the planet (with exception to Suguru's mother Sayuri)

Both of Suguru's parents Sayuri on the left & Mayumi on the right.
Most bearers of these masks bear a certain symbol on the foreheads, with 肉 being the one sported by Suguru and Mantaro.
It's almost Kinniku Day!
“Kin-youbi” is Friday, “Ni” is two and “Ku” is nine, meaning “Kinniku” is Friday the 29th.
