Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai has told the BBC ahead of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize on Wednesday that she hopes to pursue a career in politics. She said that she may even aspire to be prime minister of Pakistan once she has completed her studies in the UK.
Ms Yousafzai has been jointly awarded the prize with Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian child rights campaigner.
Ms Yousafzai was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in October 2012 for campaigning for girls' education.
She is the youngest ever recipient of the prize.
Inspiration"I want to serve my country and my dream is that my country becomes a developed country and I see every child get an education," Ms Yousafzai told BBC HARDtalk's Stephen Sackur in Oslo.
She probably do a better job than the current politicians.
I would love to see that, but chances are she'd have to live in a bulletproof bubble.
I don't see that happening. Pakistan is very divided in their opinion of her, and many see her as becoming a puppet of Western interests.

Then they clearly don't know her. She's been speaking out to Obama to stop drone strikes practically since day 1. If 'Western interests' includes gender equality, then I'd like me some Western interests.

He didn't say they were right, just that was their opinion.

in their opinion, gender equality IS a western influence
in the opinion of statistics and studies, gender equality is the only way countries like pakistan can grow and have economic prosperity

Of course, but it's still ridiculous of them to say that. Gender equality is an objectively good thing- the only bad things associated with it are people's reactions to it.
