Left and center: Some of Politico's examples from the thesis.
Right: Some of CNN Money's examples from the book

An examination of the dissertation and the sources it cites identified around more than a dozen sections of text that have been lifted, with little to no changes, from other scholarly works without proper attribution.
In some instances, Crowley footnoted her source but did not identify with quotation marks the text she was copying directly. In other instances, she copied text or heavily paraphrased with no attribution at all.
This finding comes on the heels of CNN's Saturday report that Crowley, the conservative author and commentator whom Trump tapped as senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, plagiarized more than 50 passages in her 2012 book What the (Bleep) Just Happened, copying directly from conservative columns, news articles, Wikipedia and in one case a podiatrist’s website.
Despite the news, the Trump team continues to support the appointment. “Any attempt to discredit Monica is nothing more than a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country,” a transition spokesperson told CNN.
The transition team did not reply to requests for comment for this story.

Crowley was previously accused of plagiarism in 1999 when a reader in California noticed similarities between a Wall Street Journal column she wrote and a 1988 Paul Johnson piece in Commentary.
After the discovery, the Journal published an editor’s note in that week’s Friday edition that read, “Had we known of the parallels, we would not have published the article.”
Crowley's position does not require Senate confirmation.

Kind of hard to say this is a baseless attack when the evidence is right there.
Wow, she even copied parts from her co-worker James Rosen, a respectable news reporter.
Jesus fucking christ, almost every single person Trump has tapped is a scuzzball. It's unbelievable.
Can a university invalidate your PHD in post if it turns out you're a plagiarising bag of dicks or what? Or is it a case of no backsies and that poor uni has to take a major credabity hit.

Columbia has rescinded a PHD in the past but they're not commenting on this. It's in the article but it was one of the things I left out to avoid posting too much from the source.
This is another plagiarism scandal related to Trump. How awkward.
Then again, Trump did blatantly take his main slogan from Reagan, so I can't be too surprised.
She didn't even try to put it in her own words :v:
Why is a Fox News reporter on the National Security Council in the first place
Probably because she was loyal to The Donald. That's who most of his appointees are, unless they're his family :v:
I'm guessing she did this before those plagiarism check services existed? These days that's a good way to get thrown out of academia

She submitted it in 2000, so that seems quite likely.
Apparently she plagiarised as late as 2012 in a book though, so who knows if she'd have avoided it with them around.

That wall was erected by the East because people kept fleeing to the West through Berlin and it was near impossible to stop them without a physical barrier. So the East put up a wall to keep people in, not out. Furthermore, the wall was heavily supplemented with barbed wire, mine fields, and armed guards who were authorized to kill anyone attempting to cross. The Berlin Wall was also just 96 miles long, the US-Mexico Border is 1,954 miles long.
Her comparison doesn't work.

Don't worry, she'll find a new one somewhere and copy it down verbatim for her next book.

It'll work when daddy trump sets up armed guards, minefields and barb wire on the border! :downs:

I think it actually works pretty well when you consider that the vast majority of people fleeing East Germany either bypassed the wall altogether or just crossed from East to West on things like work visas and just never went back
Should sound kinda familiar

SNL was oddly right when they said he was draining the swamp and filling it with human garbage

Technically the whole border was fortified, but usually far less than in Berlin of course.
Even then it was far shorter than the US/Mexico one though, with less than half the length.
