Mitt Romney has admitted that a failure to connect with minority voters and his underestimation of support for Barack Obama's healthcare reforms helped cost him the presidential election - an assessment that could have important implications for a Republican party divided over how to take back the White House.
Romney said the alienation of Latino and black voters did "real damage to my campaign".
I can't find the whole thing, but I will give one (1) winner rating to anyone who can. Here is half of it and here is a full transcript
Snip i'm dumb
Romney said the alienation of Latino and black voters did "real damage to my campaign".
You think, Mr. Romney?
If it weren't for those darn blacks and latinos, we could have had Romney as president!
ANN ROMNEY: It was a crushing disappointment. Not for us. Our lives are going to be fine. It's for the country.
lmao
I'm sure the fact that you intended on screwing everyone over helped as well, Mittens. The entire GOP gave up even pretending they weren't trying such things.
it also didn't help every time a damning accusation or evidence came up towards Romney, instead of doing damage control or at least rebuking it, his campaign kept saying "ONCE AGAIN, OBAMA IS TRYING TO DIVERT THE ATTENTION TO HIS FAILED ECONOMIC POLICIES, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH"
how stupid does romney think we are lol
don't forget about what happened at the rally, where they didn't let anyone out
Didn't he say around the time of the election that Obama won because he rallied as many minorities to vote as possible instead of trying to win over voters or something?
Because I took that as "Getting people to actually vote is a bad tactic and should be frowned upon"
i was expecting him to be 10 pounds heavier, in sweatpants, clutching a pint of ice cream

he's rich, so he turned out like this after the elections instead

A failure to connect with minorities? That's a polite way of saying 'Poor People? Get away, gross!'

And then he shook it off and went to buy some honey-nut cheerios

Mitt Romney was Kim Jong Un's plan. A mental nuclear bomb.
You think, Mr. Romney?
Better than him blindly denying it.
Better than him blindly denying it.
Just like when he did the entire election period?
Identifying with minority voters is a big problem Republicans have, but so is being on literally the opposite side of everything American's want. The fact that Romney was destroyed so thoroughly in the elections should have been a wake up call to this.

It wasn't really much of a landslide victory though
Who's Mitt Romney?

the popular vote doesn't mean much, if anything at all. ever wonder why they don't campaign in the smaller states like Maryland and New Jersey? It's all about the electoral college.

You do not diss honey cereal though. That shit is king.

But Romney lost literally all of the swing states as well
If it weren't for those darn blacks and latinos, we could have had Romney as president!
If only those damned minority's didn't get the majority.

He had the electoral college 332 to Romney's 206. Maybe my language was a bit exaggerated but it was still a noticeable difference, admittedly not as much as 2008 though.

This. Romney was seriously outplayed in the electoral game, and lost by a huge margin because of it.
They failed at playing the game, and they seriously failed at their strategy of finding enough white men to steamroll every other minority put together.
It's funny Romney decides to rip into Obama for not working together for a compromise on budget issues and such. I guess for him "compromise" means Obama needs to do everything the Republicans want here, ignores that even much of Obama's base is angry with him for offering as much deals to the Republicans as he has.
Just sounds like a sore loser to me. I don't think he needed professionals to tell him Republicans don't connect too well to people outside of WASP or minorities who've taken up those characteristics. It's funny with Republicans complaining in the aftermath that cities have too much "weight" in voting, as well as their lamenting of how "urban voters" (read: minorities) are deciding elections. It's this kind of idiotic behavior, referring to minorities as some sort of exotic, not-American part of the electorate that's the root of the GOP's image problem.
It wasn't really much of a landslide victory though
a landslide victory is where there is at least ten point spread between two choices.
electoral votes:
obama: 62%
romney: 38%
spread: 24%
that is a landslide victory.

isn't white no longer a majority anyways?
why would anyone even TRY that tactic.

its funny how people were saying Obama got 100% of the votes / had a 90% spread

Talking about the popular vote. An electoral win means good strategy, not overwhelming support.
