• Something suspicious about my school's future plans...

Please do not lock this thread, this isnt a thread about "my day at school today", this is a thread about a general suspicion i have of their intentions... Basically, I was reading this letter we got given by our school about their planned change to foundation school (for all you people who don't know, this will basically keep government funding, but put the governors in charge instead). Basically, it said about it's need to secure the future of the school. In a time with a severe shortage of schools in and around London, apparently a school that is over-applied for every year needs to secure it's future. So I inquired further, looking on the school website. According to a PDF file on there, they want to change to foundation to expand, to cater for people moving into homes that will be built in the area. I can't see how a school in £108,000 debt (yes, it's a lot) can afford this. There is also no obvious space they can build on within a mile of the school. I sent them an email, but I haven't had a reply. I seriously think something's up, but I actually can't see what. And because Facepunch is full of people with informed opinions, I decided to ask what you think could be happening...
Your school is going to get (User was banned for this post ("Snipe." - ventilated))
Probably the government is looking for a secured investment in a school, apparently yours seeing how desperate it is. (£108,000 debt WTF) I just have no Idea why they would want to do this
Please do not lock this thread, this isnt a thread about "my day at school today", this is a thread about a general suspicion i have of their intentions...
Also you are officially the best 09'er for saying that.
Debt is just money that you don't need to pay if you go broke. At least if you are a government organization or a bank. Also I am just referring to the bailout thingies since I think that you who rate me boxes haven't read a magazine in 2 years. And what if a school goes bankrupt? Does the school stop working or what? No, goverment pays it all. (Yes it is still paid off don't take everything literally figures of speech and etc)
Debt is just money that you don't need to pay if you go broke
What? Are you completely stupid? Debt is money that is owed and needs to be payed off.
Debt is just money that you don't need to pay if you go broke
yea!!!
My school is even better, PM though for info, I don't want to derail this thread.
happened to my school too except they bought a new building and were in debt for 7 million... they never had a plan to pay off that seven million for some reason, fuckin retards.
our school robs the kids.. so ...... .... .. . .... .. .. . . . .they're not poor. they also accept the moneyu from the governnmet.
My school is even better, PM though for info, I don't want to derail this thread.
My school is supposedly one of the best around, and they won't shut up about it They're absolutely shit at handling money though, a few years ago they built an astro-turf pitch, and that cost a lot
Sounds like they're going to pack more kids into the school to get more tax money.
My school just built a new 33 million dollar arts building. :downs:

Also my school is spending a shit load of money to build handicap ramps and elevators all over the campus even though our school is strapped for cash and there isn't a single crippled kid in the school.
yea!!!
The thread now belongs to this man.
AI- what. The insurance guys?
Yes, they were the top company in terms of insurance brokers, so the government bailed them out when they had money issues so people wouldn't lose their insurance plans.
I can't wait to see where you'll be in five years.
At least he won't have to pay off any debt OP, your school is going to go broke and all of the students will be forced to slave away in the mines to repay their debt I'm sorry for you
aha we won't go broke the government will pay it off, im just worried about their 'expansion' plans. the government certainly won't pay for that...
Well, then expect alot of people saying "Hi there!" from now on
If they don't have much money or space for expansion, then it is odd that they plan just that. Did the PDF specify if this IS what they're doing, or just something they're considering?
