• Petals around the Rose

In my physics class, my teacher started to tell us about this game called "petals around the rose." Basically, a person rolls four dice, and counts the "petals around the rose." Sounds confusing, right? Well, I want to see how many of you guys can actually get this [I]without[/I] using google. If you google this game and learn how to do it because of a wikipedia page, you're not learning anything because that totally negates the point of the game, and that is to get your mind attuned to considering the generally unconsidered. Here's how this is going to work. First I'm going to show you examples. These examples will already have the number of petals filled in, all you have to do is observe them and figure out how the number of petals is what it is. Then, I'm going to post pictures that [I]don't[/I] have the number of petals filled in. Solving these is up to you to test your abilities. If you think you know what to do, quote the image you think you solved and I'll tell you if what you answered is right or not. what
oh god this is so confusing [editline]11:51PM[/editline] Oh god I looked it up and now I am so sad that I didn't notice. [editline]11:52PM[/editline] hint [sp]the name of the game is extremely literal, and the answer must be even or zero[/sp]
I google'd it.....its fucking useless.....and an over all waste of time
It's so funny when you understand it. When I was in the process of making these, I kept thinking "these are way too easy." [editline]10:58PM[/editline] Yes, because learning how to think outside of the box and begin considering the unconsidered is a waste of time. :downs:

It's funny because that's exactly what I would expect to hear from someone who doesn't consider the unconsidered. Quit taking things so literally and learn to broaden your mind a bit.
My little sister figured it out for me. [sp]You count the die that have a dot in the center excluding the dot? So the answers are 8, 6, 0?[/sp] I think that's right. It works for the others.
Spoiler tag the method. Try it yourself and see if it works. But don't you find it odd that your little sister was the one who figured it out? And not you? Younger kids would find this activity incredibly simple because they aren't over analyzing it.
That was honestly really easy.
I had looked at the puzzle for about five seconds before she walked in. She's only 3 years younger than me so I'm not really surprised.

It's like you ignored the fact that it's spoilered.
That's the joke.
