• Issue with XFX Radeon 6670HD Artifacting in overdrive mode

This has been an ongoing issue for a while, but i cant find anybody else having the same issue with this graphics card. so last summer i decided to upgrade my PC, and while i was waiting for the mobo to arrive i went and bought the PSU and GPU at the micro center near me, but when i installed the PSU (500 watt, gpu requires 500) and then the graphics card, everything worked fine until i attempted to use the CCC overdrive to overclock the core and memory, which i have had no issues in the past with my other ATI cards. i tried this on a 6570 and a 6670 and both had the same results, in which artifacting occured all over the screen and the driver crashed completely. Does anybody know a possible fix or is it just not possible with this card?
There is no single desktop GPU in existence that requires 500W by itself, it's an estimation based on the average PCs power usage under load. Overclocking to any extent is not a guarantee, it's luck of the draw. This is especially true when it comes to memory, it's usually very unforgiving of overclocking. While you could get a +300MHz on the core easily, sometimes even 10 MHz pushes memory over the edge.
