We remember the days of Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and naturally the original Banjo and Kazooie. I remember even after being bought by Microsoft how you still had one last trick up your sleeve known as Viva Pinata, an extremely under-appreciated gem from last generation. Now you are a shadow of your former self making silly casual Kinect games that no one is buying. Banjo and Kazooie has always been viewed a very Nintendo like franchise, one which died with Nutz and Bolts. Nintendo, according to this anonymous tipster, is looking to correct the great disservice in the killing off of this once beloved franchise. According to the tipster, Nintendo is in direct negotiations with Microsoft to buy RARE, though the purpose of buying them seems to be all based around getting the rights to Banjo and Kazooie. Of course, we can’t forget the other key franchises Nintendo gets with the acquisition. Conker’s Bad Fur Day may have been shunned by Nintendo, but a sequel to that game should be embraced by the Nintendo brass if they want the Wii U to really be for everyone. Of course, this rumor doesn’t stop there - it goes as far as to suggest that Retro Studios is actually deep into development on a Banjo and Kazooie title, and that the talks with Microsoft have been ongoing for some time. Every fiber of my body wants this rumor to come true, but I know better. You might as well take this rumor with 3 giant semi-trucks of salt because if I was a betting man (and I am), I would throw my life savings in the corner of falsehood here. But we can dream can’t we? RARE and Nintendo back together? Banjo and Kazooie back where they belong (and likely in a Smash game to boot?). For once can one of these anonymous tips be right? Doubtful, but God willing we will get our way.
probably bullshit but i want to believe so fucking hard
this is almost certainly bullshit so ill just say that i loved playing the shit out of nuts and bolts.

Killer instincts?
Another company to shovel out more Mario games.
Rare never did make Mario games and never will. They made the Donkey Kong Country games, yes, but those had nothing to do with Mario.
Rare never did make Mario games and never will. They made the Donkey Kong Country games, yes, but those had nothing to do with Mario.
I wouldn't honestly be too surprised if they did buy Rare, didn't rare make Diddy-Kong racing? (A game which was ported to the DS?)
If they buy Rare we may actually get good games on the Wii Classics Arcade. Also, Nintendo may be able to stay afloat in the coming years due to them having a source for games people actually want to buy.
What nintendo needs to do: Here Rare. We give you the wii U and an unlimited amount of money. Go nuts. What Nintendo will do: Here Rare. This is the 3DS, get to work on remaking Banjo Kazooie.
Yes, yes! Oh god yes!

Haven't most old members moved to other studios or quit by now? Weren't their last games ''KINECT SPORT'' stuff? That left me under the impression all that is left of Rare is the name. I'm sorry if it sounds grim, I'm all for freeing Rare from the evil chains of Microsoft  Oh sorry I just read the article. Yeah, they're doing it for the IP ownerships. I now hope this is 100% true because motherfucker I need another Bad Fur Day (that doesn't end up trying too hard like DNF).
Nuts and Bolts wasn't that bad.

All the people who helped in the development of a few legendary titles have quit, or were fired. Wise, Seavor, Norgate, Beanland and Kirkhope to name a few of the former employees. What's sad is how unfortunate it is that Rare is mostly responsible for getting themselves where they are today, since technically the Stamper Brothers are the ones who sold the majority of their shares to Microsoft, Nintendo only decided to sell their share when they saw what Rare was doing.
Guys, the Rare that made Banjo-kazooie, Conker and Perfect Dark haven't existed for a long time. Even if Nintendo do buy them they wont go back to how they once were.

Rare made the Nintendo 64 the console that it's known for, to be honest. I for one want a new Donkey Kong game that's like DK64.
Jet Force Gemini 2 please, I would buy a WiiU for it.
I'd hope they would develop multi-platform but it's never gonna happen.
