It's nice to see a game dev caring about the story the players want instead of the story one dude wants.

Would be a great DLC idea for Second Son where the evil ending was the canon one.
Isn't this old news? I'm pretty sure I've read this headline before.
Edit: Yeah we've known this for like a year now lol http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2013/05/10/bridging-the-gap-from-infamous-2-to-second-son.aspx
well it's the first time I ever heard about this.
To be fair I think it's more a case of "first time through I'll be good, then second time through I'll be evil" instead of "I want to sacrifice Cole ;_;7"

A lot of people probably played through it once though.
Interesting decision. I'd just assumed most people played the good way because a) bad endings are usually shit and b) it's "what you're supposed to be doing" IRL, which is a mentality that can slip into games where you want to fulfill all the goal, follow all the objectives, do it all "properly" to completion. I like screwing around and being a dick in sandboxes a lot, but that's also when I don't care about the story and would have a lower probability of entering the statistic.
So I'd just assumed most people just wanted to do everything properly once and then fuck around once everything's unlocked.
It's the right mindset to be a Dungeon Master - it doesn't matter if you prepared another campaigns worth of material if your players don't choose to do it. Glad they went with the players.
Too bad, I think the evil ending would have been a way more interesting route for a sequel. Especially because it actually makes sense.

the games entire plot point doesn't make any sense.
both endings make the same amount of no-sense. the good ending killed off all the conduits and power-babbies but only within a wide radius, not everywhere in the world.
The Good powers in InFamous 2 were significantly better than the bad powers.
Not that I'm bashing the bot or the article, but wasn't this revealed near the beginning of development of infamous: second son?
I'm proud to say that I played hero first time though. Hero is still my favorite way to play.
Your sandbox is only as good as your method of getting around, and I love me that ice launch.

Of course it was revealed that the good ending was canon when second son was announced, but they didn't explain why until recently (which is why this article is here). And like the article says, they originally were going to go with a different idea..
