• It's the night before my Theory Test...

So Facepunch. It's the night before my theory test (UK). Is there anything i definatly need to know for sure? I've read the DSA Driving book and Highway Code. Pretty confident with those for the most part. I know braking distances and all the signs etc. Any tips?
If it's anything like the American test, I'd suggest skipping questions and coming back to them later. Here, we can skip questions until we get to the end of the test which makes for a higher pass rate. Not sure how it works there, after skimming an article about the Theory Test, it seems like it's much harder than the US test.
The UK actually cares about the theory test? Damn. Ours is incredibly easy.
Yeh we need 43/50 correct, which is 86% i think. Also we have to take a Hazard Perception test too.
Try to answer the questions correctly. I asked people about it on your behalf and this was the general consensus.
^ What he said.
it so easy i got everything right
Whats the Hazard Perception like? I took some practice ones but, is it easier than the theory questions?
Questions are easy and most are common sense. The hazard perception is the tricky bit. I employed a 3 click strategy where I clicked when I first saw it, then slightly later and then a last click as a last ditch effort to get some points if for some reason it didn't like where you clicked.
Don't click TOO many times (like more than 7) on the hazard perception, but definitely click more than twice, especially as the hazard may not be what you're expecting. If you think you know your signs and stuff, you should be set for the multiple choice. A great deal is common sense, but some of it is a little more difficult (if you're not observant when on the motorway, the colours of the studs are : green for slip road, red on the left, amber on the right, white in the middle) I passed my theory test yesterday - you should be fine. Good luck!
Its fairly common sense for the hazard perception test. As for the theory itself, it is pretty easy, aslong as you have done a small amount of revision for it.
Cheers, i'll let you all know how i get on tommorow ;)
good luck on that test.
Good luck. As everyone else said, question section is ridiculously easy if you get the right questions. I seem to remember there are like 10 difficult questions out of all the questions they can ask you, but most of the others are pretty much just asking whether or not you should plough into a crowd of pedestrians. Hazard perception is kind of hassle as some things are a bit far off or there are a few things which could be hazards, but aren't counted as such. Basically though, don't click like mad and don't worry if the clip has been playing for a while and you haven't seen anything major yet; chances are the hazard will be near the end of that one, or something minor you clicked on earlier was the hazard. Literally just click when it looks like shit might get real or someone is doing some stupid shit in the road or looks like they're going to. Try not to worry, even though it is hard not to. You'll do fine.
You can actually get some mock tests online (as they're all electronically done) and I recommend doing them because when I did my theory some of the questions on the mock tests actually appeared in the actual test.
The questions for me were easy. Hazard perception was awful though :v: I got 49/50 on the questions Hazard perception, I got exactly the pass mark... so only just made it :3: But yeah... Click quite a few times when you see stuff (no more than 6-7 though).
Just practice with the DVD that you would have bought if you're not stupid until you get %100 each time on the questions. They are worded exactly the same as the test if you bought the DVD that everyone else buys.. The hazard perception well, you'll just have to brave that one yourself. I nailed the questions %100 which helped me scrape hazard perception because it's a proper cunt.
I just started my driving lessons, the Theory sounds like the easier bit to me :v: But that's just how I think.
I just remembered that when I took my theory I passed on the 2nd time. The 2nd time I thought I'd fucked the hazard perception. Got the screen that said "your a dick you clicked too many times" about halfway through and thought I'd fucked it so I just did the rest without giving a shit. Walked upto the women like "Blahblah yeh yeh I failed whatever" and she told me I passed. lmfao

Theoretically, studying will make you pass
I did it last month and all I can say is that it is the easiest test you will ever take EVER I guarantee it
It's not that hard, you're making a big deal out of it. Just take your time and watch extremely carefully on the hazard perception test.
I passed. Got 45 on the questions and 63 on the hazard perception. :)
