• Anyone know where to get a cheap motherboard?

OK, so a few years ago, I fried my desktop PC, and I've been confined to a subpar (by current standards) laptop. I'm usually broke, and judging from what happened, I figured it was either the PSU or the board that fried. I have no way of testing this, though. So, I thought it would mostly likely be the PSU, and I finally saved up enough money to buy a new one, and I still get no response whatsoever. The board is totally dead. Hopefully, it didn't also reach my expensive CPU or GPU, but like I said, no way to test right now. I'm wondering, does anyone know a place where I can get a cheap board, but not too cheap? The CPU I've got, I believe, is some kind of AMD Phenom quad core. I plan to use this machine for gaming, of course. Any help would be great. Thanks.
We'd need to know the exact CPU model in order to know what board to get that'd be compatible. If you can check the model name printed on the CPU itself, or look up the model name of the computer if it's a prebuilt one it'd really help.
eBay.
