• Audio Cracking/Distortion

Hey guys, I have this really annoying problem when playing any games. The audio starts to get very crackly and distorted. I had a regular audio port headset, and when it started to happen it seemed that the whole sound would slow down and become extremely distorted. I now a very nice Razer USB headset, and the problem is better, the audio does not really get distorted just extremely crackly. I noticed after awhile on my USB headset that if I leave the the game open and it continues to distort the audio is gone completely and I am just left if a beeping sound. The sound stays until I unplug my headset and plug it back in. Any advice on this? Here is my DPC Latency after about 15 minuets of a game running. Either sound driver is bad or it's a shitty front panel usb port. [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline] Which headset? I rep Razer all the time people give me shit on Facepunch sometimes. I have the Orcas and the Carcharias among other things from Razer.

You can also try turning down your volume settings to or switching to a stereo jack headphones and retest. Also posting from a phone is interesting.

Ha awesome. Like quoting is hard, pages are separated and replies glitch sometimes.

It the thing is this just started to happen recently, and sound does not go bad right when I start to play the game about 10 minuets into it is when it happens. My headset is the razer megalodgon.
That comes with it's own sound card check Razer for drivers here: http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view&parentcategoryid=37&pcid=78&nav=0,78 Or I just thought of this check the properties in the sound devices manager change the frequency until it doesn't happen anymore. [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline] Refer to the Technical Specifications on the Razer site for the correct frequency.
If what moe suggested doesn't work, do you have any other headphones to test this with? Or any other computers that you can test the headphones with?

Oh. Me blind and dumb. :downs: I read that post about 3 times and I missed it still. Yeesh...
I still haven't managed to fix the problem. If anyone else has some ideas. Edit: After researching, I think it might have to do with DPC Latency. Anyone with knowledge about lowering it could be helpful.
