• Planning to set up a herb/edible flowers indoor garden

Okay, this is my first time I'm ever attempting some sort of DIY crafting. I've got this leftover sort of rack in my house lying about, and I thought I could really use it. But I'm inexperienced, so I intend to start out with a few herbs before anything big. I'm planning maybe Parsley and thyme first, since they are bloody common and pretty popular. And if all goes well, hopefully I can build a irrigation system. Also, I live in Singapore, so anyone know if certain plants need a controlled climate or a greenhouse to thrive? Its a rather hot environment down here. Below is the rack I was talking about. If there's anyone here who can help to give some advice, that'll be great. I just planted Ysop and Parsley in my flat 3 days ago. Your climate should be perfect since herbs need it warm and they need much light. For that rack I'd use the upper par for stuff that grows upright like parsley and the lower stuff for herbs that tend to and can grow sideways, savory, garden marjoram and so on.
I've started planting some chinese coriander and some marigold, and got me a seedling of lemon basil. I'm still thinking whether I should plant my lavender, since I heard it needs a rather cool climate. Also, does the lemon basil, coriander or marigold need any air conditioning or I could just put it out in the open?
